Job Details

The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce is seeking an Interactive Content Designer to work with the marketing team and program directors to create, develop and curate multimedia content for audiovisual storytelling projects such as marketing and event videos, member stories, recruitment videos, podcasts and other multimedia projects that promote the strategic goals of the Chamber and Foundation. The Designer will also administer publication of newsletters, podcasts, bulk emails and website updates.  

The successful candidate must excel in creative ideation, crafting engaging messages, curating content, editing for clarity and brand alignment, and targeting messaging to specific demographics. The position requires excellent technical skills, strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, disciplined in planning and managing their time and projects. The Designer interacts regularly with Chattanooga Chamber management, program directors, volunteers, members, clients and stakeholders, requiring a focus on customer service and a friendly, approachable and helpful demeanor.

A sampling of the job duties includes, but is not limited to:

  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies, social media trends, and professional best practices in content development and multimedia production
  • Collaborates closely with internal clients and stakeholders to help facilitate the creation of multimedia content
  • Produce compelling multimedia projects by collaborating on idea generation, scripting; planning video shoots, scout, select and reserve shoot locations, manage all field production activities, and incorporate post-production editing
  • Record and edit video and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/sfx, media management and archiving project media
  • Setup, record, monitor for sound quality, post-production edit, and upload podcast audio files for digital distribution
  • Code HTML static pages, update graphics and update content through the content management system in compliance with established design standards
  • Conduct quality assurance checks of content and graphics and assist with the resolution of quality issues, including regularly reviewing the website for stale content and broken links
  • Work with Marketing Communications team to plan and implement content creation across various platforms, including video, website and podcasts.
  • Maintain and update an extensive library of marketing pieces, photos, collateral materials, publication, samples, etc.

The position requires a 4-year degree in marketing, communications, graphic design or related field plus 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in project management, marketing, social media, creative writing, photography, videography and graphic design a plus.
