JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Individual Giving Manager to join the department at its headquarters located in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, engaging, and stewarding individual donors to support the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Key responsibilities include overseeing donor prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship initiatives, creating and implementing strategic plans for specific donor segments (mid-range donors and monthly donors), developing and executing direct and digital campaigns, data management and reporting, and supporting major donor visits. An ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated success in securing gifts from individuals, implementing donor cultivation and recognition activities, and prospecting major gifts.
  • Experience engaging volunteers in philanthropic campaigns.
  • Experience implementing monthly donor campaigns and/or peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
  • Experience creating fundraising campaign materials and overseeing implementation of direct mail, email, and digital, campaigns.
  • Ability to steward gifts and ensure that donor expectations are met.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to make decisions that leads to positive outcomes.
  • High degree of integrity, initiative, and resilience.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other donor management software

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements:

  • Knowledge of and experience in solicitation, cultivation and stewardship strategies and techniques, particularly in the area of individual donor fundraising
  • Ability to research prospects and support major donor visits
  • Ability to leverage data in support of tracking trends and managing campaign strategies
  • Solid knowledge of Salesforce with the ability to generate reports and manage data within the CRM
  • Proven track record of personally identifying, cultivating and soliciting individual donors
  • Proven track record of securing four- and five-figure gifts
  • Demonstrated ability to write compelling campaign content and donor communications, including direct mail and email solicitations
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and networking skills with large groups as well as with individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision
  • Self-motivation and discipline to regularly set and achieve work goals and meet key performance indicators

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years non-profit fund raising/sales experience
  • Experience directly soliciting financial support from individuals and groups
  • Experience with fundraising software, including crowdfunding sites
  • Excellent proposal writing and delivery skills
  • Track record of successful revenue generation
  • Track record of success in project and process management

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Valid driver’s license necessary
  • May be required to occasionally work nights and weekends as needed
  • Staff are currently working a hybrid schedule (in-office/wfh)
