Position Summary
The Leap Year Recruiter will join our team to support our Leap Year’s efforts to grow our program by building a robust, well-qualified pipeline of program applicants from high schools across Metro-Atlanta to ultimately grow the size of our 2022-23 cohort. Leap Year is a young, nonprofit organization that is improving college success and literacy results in metro-Atlanta by recruiting first generation high school graduates to serve as reading coaches through our community service and college readiness gap year program. Key Responsibilities
- Expand program awareness, interest, and applications by increasing penetration in high schools and community-based organizations in Metro-Atlanta through existing contacts and cultivating new relationships; promotes the program and encourages applications by scheduling and leading information sessions, college fairs and return to high schools to follow up with teachers, counselors, and students.
- Develop relationships and correspond with prospective students with targeted one-on-one student text outreach; coordinate advertising and social media campaigns; research to find and add new contacts; manager and add to outreach database for eblasts and text campaigns;
- Communicate with counselors, advisors, and potential students daily via email, text, call and respond quickly to inquiries; maintains proper knowledge of the services and programs in order to properly counsel and advise counselors and potential students seeking admission.
- Conducts inspiring information presentations in classrooms, auditoriums, and virtually; as the main program representative, maintain a professional appearance in both manner and dress to create an excellent impression; assist in conducting student interviews to support program admission and enrollment efforts.
- Attend weekly manager meetings, and any other meetings required; complete and submit weekly and monthly reports of in-field activities to track the weekly progress towards recruitment-related goals; check and respond to calls, texts, emails and voicemails daily.
- Provide administrative and project management support to the Leap Year team as needed; support the Leap Year team’s efforts for program growth, visibility, and fundraising; support and fill in for colleagues when needed.
Qualifications
- Independent, professional, outgoing, resourceful, and flexible individual with strong work ethic, positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree (first generation college graduate is a plus!)
- One year of related experience in admissions, recruitment, or marketing experience
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Position Details
- Ideal start date: February 1st, 2022
- Contract length: four months, with possible extension
- Schedule: 20 hours per week, flexibility hours plus paid PTO
- Salary: competitive and commensurate with relevant experience ( bonus available if program enrollment goals are met or exceeded)
