Job Description 

Overview 

The position of Annual Giving Manager is an exciting opportunity for a new development professional passionate about building an expertise in Individual Giving. The Annual Giving Manager is responsible for helping the Individual Giving Team implement all activities, especially stewardship projects, of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta individual donors. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Annual Giving Manager must be a highly organized, self-starter with impeccable attention to detail. The Annual Giving Manager will play an important role in growing annual support from individuals at all giving levels to enable our RISE2025 Strategic Plan goal to serve more kids, more often, with greater impact. 

Key qualities of an outstanding candidate are strong relationship-building and communication skills, a self-starter, superb organizational and project management abilities, and creative thinking skills. Equally important is the ability to work productively and proactively, both independently and as part of a team.  

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities 

  • Focus on acquisition of new entry-level donors and stewardship, grow number of individual donors giving <$1,000 annually 
  • Oversee the logistics of Champions Club for GIRLS Women’s Giving Society activities and other donor cultivation events 
  • Assist marketing staff with content creation for donor communications 
  • Manage vendor relationships with direct mail and event companies/consultants 
  • Execute donor acquisition strategies
  • Write and update acknowledgement letter templates 
  • Manage individual giving operations/admin tasks, such as financial reporting, invoices and donor record keeping 
  • Other related duties as assigned by Director of Individual Giving 

Environment & Working Conditions 

Normal internal office environment. Able to travel throughout the Metro Atlanta area to attend donor meetings and events; some evenings and weekends required. Occasional need to travel to club locations within the Metro Atlanta area. Frequent internal contacts with employees throughout organization required. Opportunity to work remote 2-3 days per week. 

All new employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by their start date. 

Requirements: 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred 

Experience 

  • 1-2 years of fundraising experience including managing a portfolio of donors and a proven track record for securing gifts 
  • Donor relations experience preferred 

Knowledge 

  • Well versed in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word 
  • Social Media Marketing and Canva (design) experience a plus 
  • Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge or comparable donor database preferred 

Skills 

  • Demonstrated track record of implementing successful individual giving strategies 
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills 
  • Proactive and eager to learn 
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously is a must 
  • Goal-oriented with ability to work independently and meet deadlines 
  • Ability to gather, analyze and communicate data results 
  • Ability to work well with a team 
  • Detail-oriented 
  • Positive attitude and undeniable passion for playing a role in fulfilling the organization’s mission. 

Employee Classification

Exempt employees are not entitled, under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), to the protections of the wage and hour laws of the state or the FLSA. Exempt employees must always be paid on a salary basis and not be subject to reduction based on the quality or quantity of work performed.
