ABOUT THE ROLE

YBCA is looking for an HR Manager to manage the day-to day operations of Human Resources, with strong experience in HR administration and recruitment, with a desire to participate in the full cycle of Human Resource Management. Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, the successful candidate is independent and motivated by a sense of ownership and a willingness to participate in all areas of HR practice as needed. This person will work closely with our partners in the Accounting office and members of the Operations team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains confidentiality of all records and information processed through the Human Resources and Finance Department while maintaining the integrity of the data
  • Prioritizes and manages time to provide accurate and timely completion of work with many interruptions on a daily basis
  • Performs customer service functions, answering employee requests and questions in a timely manner
  • Support development and maintenance of an organizational culture that serves the mission and vision of the organization, including a process of monitoring and attending to staff morale.
  • Project managing human resources initiatives

Benefits Administration Function

  • Conducts benefits administration of the following plans: medical, dental, vision, LTD, 403b, life insurance, FSA plans, HCSO/HCAO, to include enrollment changes, terminations, communicating benefit information to employees, reporting, and invoice processing
  • Oversees benefits annual open enrollment and attend broker meetings, coordinate events, drafting employee communications and managing enrollment changes.
  • Communicates with service providers concerning routine administration of programs
  • Supports in managing & administering of YBCA’s leave programs to include FMLA, PDL, CFRA, Military Leave, and other leave programs including initial communication of eligibility
  • Responsible for communicating worker’s compensation claim reporting process, training, and reporting 

Human Resource Function

  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems 
  • Guide management and employee actions by maintaining and communicating HR guidelines, and modeling organizational values
  • Works in collaboration with the Director to build and enhance HR best practices, forms, processes, materials, handbook updates, and HR procedures documentation etc.
  • Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
  • Processes personnel action forms and assures proper approvals and forwards in a timely manner the approved forms to the accounting department for processing

Recruitment, Hiring, On-Boarding, Employee Relations Function

  • Support development and implementation of the D&I strategy through the integration of D&I into core processes along the employee lifecycle (e.g. recruiting, onboarding, performance management, recognition).
  • Manages and forwards the recruitment process maximizing the utility of the applicant tracking system (ATS), posts to external job boards
  • Provides training and guidance on recruiting, interviewing, and hiring practices
  • Oversees the onboarding process, coordinating with HR generalist & other departments
  • Provide termination paperwork to include final check and all legally required forms and forward the appropriate forms to accounting for processing; may conduct exit interviews
  • Maintains compliance with Federal and State regulations concerning employment
  • Provides general administrative duties
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 4 years of general HR experience including recruitment
  • Experience managing HR systems & databases
  • Extremely effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to manage relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills & detail orientation with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience implementing programs that promote DEIA within organizational processes
  • Ability to work well independently; proven resourcefulness and a problem solver
  • High level of interpersonal skills and judgment to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and access, and works effectively with people of varied backgrounds, experiences, points of view, and aspirations
  • Knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other state and federal regulations
  • Proficiency with Windows and Macintosh platforms, G-Suite (Gmail, calendar, and google drive), Excel, MS Word) required; database knowledge, Asana, Nexonia, Expensify, USI or other database a plus
