POSITION SUMMARY:  Under the supervision of the Community Services Director, the HH Program Coordinator is responsible for administration of CSBG and other Federal funds.  The HH Program Coordinator works with external contractors and vendors to complete home repairs and improvements on the homes of low-income participants. 

MAJOR TASKS AND RESONSIBLITIES:

Administrative – 95%

  • Prepare bid packages and perform correct procurement procedures for all home repairs.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external contractors to get home repairs done.
  • May be responsible for supervising volunteers or support staff
  • Understand and be knowledgeable of program goals and objectives; be able to professionally interpret them to the general public; ensure that discrimination does not exist in delivery of services
  • Maintain effective communications internally and externally
  • Prepare reports and other required documentation; maintain integrity of database and keep all client case records up to date and current
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as needed and required of the position
  • Follow policies and procedures as defined by Agency, CSBG Service Manual, LiHEAP Service Manual, and other internal resources
  • Interact with the general public, serve low-income families and individuals, often senior citizens
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled supervisory sessions, team meetings, case staffing, and monthly staff meetings as requested.
  • Satisfy annual training requirements of Agency.
  • Other duties as determined

Outreach and Engagement – 5%

  • Participate in community events to share the details of program.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing on a professional level
  • Ability to carry out program duties with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multitask and handle (at times) large volumes

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience managing people and projects
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from accredited college is preferred; High School diploma is mandatory; if High School Diploma or equivalent, must also possess at least 2 years professional experience
  • Experience in home repairs, construction, plumbing, electrical, or other trades is preferred.

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to read, understand, and apply written and spoken directions; write; count accurately; use advanced math skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, social media, modern technology, and fax machines.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local during business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required for training purposes.

Many of the programs and resources that we provide are funded through Federal, State, and local grants.  In addition to grant funds, we partner with community organizations, accept private donations, and do annual fundraising to cover the cost of additional programs and services for the communities that we serve in a five-county region.
