Apprenticeship Coordinator
Organization Type: Non-Profit, Faith-Based, 100+ Employees
Position Type: Full-Time; Salaried Exempt
Department: Women’s Academy, located in Hank Aaron New Beginnings Academy
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Hours: 40 hours per week, including occasional evenings and weekends
Position Summary: The Apprenticeship Coordinator is responsible for consistent encouragement and supervision of apprenticeship participants in the Women’s Academy. This position actively reinforces career track concepts while collaborating more broadly with the therapeutic, educational, and career skills staff to meet organizational goals and individual participant goals.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Program Structure
- Provide direct support to participants in achieving their career goals through obtaining relevant living-wage employment and applying skills developed in the career track
- Maintain participant relationships and monitor case management needs through weekly check-ins
- Support participants with job readiness and job placement
- Collaborate with team members to plan and implement transition plans for participants
- Administer random drug screens in accordance with program policies
- Review individual job tracker updates with participants during weekly check-ins
- Conduct biweekly supervisor check-ins with apprenticeship partners
- Utilize the strength-based approach in providing structure for the program and accountability for participants
- Assist with program administration, data collection and electronic health records (EHR), grant requirements, reporting, transportation as a driver for the 15-passenger van program vehicle, supplies inventory, and schedule coverage
- Collaborate with staff members to provide supervision and support as needed
- Create and deliver program-specific and skill-related sessions for participants in both the Apprenticeship and Career + tracks
- Assist participants with removing barriers to program completion
- Assist with preparing participants for interviews, follow-up, and Apprenticeship track completion
- Manage, track, and inventory laptops for Career and Apprenticeship participants

Professional Qualifications:
- Administrative, organizational, and computer skills including use of email and Microsoft Office suite of products
- Digital literacy through a variety of platforms
- Documentation of references (at least two professional and one personal) that attest to the person’s capability of performing the duties of the position and to the person’s suitability of working with or around children and vulnerable populations
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social sciences, social work, education, business, public administration, or a related field
- Minimum two years of relevant experience, such as in the field of education or social or human services; experience preferred supporting adult victims of complex trauma
Position Requirements:
- Moderate local travel related to participant and program needs, including ongoing clearance for driving organization vehicles and transporting participants, as well as occasional travel for training
- Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds and work for long periods at a computer
- Satisfactory criminal history background check, including clearance with Atlanta Public Schools (APS)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record
