JF&CS is now seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.

PURPOSE: The Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will provide quality and compassionate direct-patient care and ensure psychiatrist services are provided with an evidence-based, respectful and integrated care clinical framework.  Commonly presenting issues include anxiety, depression, ADHD, and learning disabilities.  The Psychiatrist will provide services in an outpatient clinic, coordinating care and collaborating with an integrated behavioral health team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing
  • Analyze data and results of assessments to diagnose patients
  • Prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis
  • Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications
  • Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed
  • Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Collaborate with a broader team of clinicians and social workers to assess and adjust treatment plans
  • Coordinate and communicate with case managers and other stakeholders about treatment and care

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent knowledge and familiarity with current DSM criteria
  • Interest in working from both prevention and intervention approaches
  • Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with and interest in working with people from a broad array of cultures, lifestyles, behaviors and spiritual practices
  • High integrity when dealing with restricted and/or confidential information
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients while building trust and respect

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Current and valid board certification in psychiatry
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency
  • Licensed to practice medicine in state of practice
  • Current DEA registration
  • Work experience in community-based health care service capacity preferred
