NCCPA requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of December 15, 2021, unless the employee qualifies for a legally required exemption. New hires must provide proof  of full COVID-19 vaccination at the time of hire, and offers of employment will be contingent on compliance with NCCPA’s COVID-19 vaccination policy. 

Human Resources Generalist   

Location: While NCCPA is temporarily working remote due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the nature of this position will require that the candidate report into the Johns Creek office to complete certain duties. NCCPA is anticipating a hybrid transition back into our Johns Creek office in early 2022.

Established as a not-for-profit organization in 1974, we are dedicated to assuring the public that certified PAs meet established standards of clinical knowledge and cognitive skills upon entry into practice and throughout their careers. All U.S. states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. territories have decided to rely on NCCPA certification as one of the criteria for licensure or regulation of PAs.

The Human Resource Department consists of three important roles: the Vice President of Finance and Corporate Services, the Manager of Human Resources and the Human Resources Generalist.  Although we are a small department, we value collaboration, servant leadership, and sharing great ideas.  We strive to serve our employee needs every day and make NCCPA a great place to work!

As the Human Resources Generalist, you will performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to recruiting and talent acquisition; compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; employee recognition; health and safety; and training and development. 

How Will You Make a Difference? You will…

Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; partner with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Work with hiring managers and other staff to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, during recruiting and interviewing process. 

 

Coordinate annual and new hire benefits enrollment for eligible employees and assist employees with questions including health, dental, voluntary life, vision, and 401k retirement plan. Process enrollments, life events and status changes in a timely manner

 

Be responsible for the HR employment compliance processes including, but not limited to, offer letters, administration of I-9, monitoring background check process, references, employment verification, and unemployment claims.  

 

Manage, enter and maintain data in Applicant Tracking System, HRIS, benefit vendor databases, employee files and other HR records. Work with Finance staff to ensure accuracy of employee information, payroll deductions, and bill reconciliations.  

 

Facilitate the onboarding, offboarding and employee recognition processes and programs. 

 

Answer employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. 

 

Hard Skills You Will Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field   
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience working in Human Resources. 
  • Working knowledge of employment laws including, but not limited to the DOL, FLSA, ADA, and EEOC.  
  • Intermediate knowledge of HRIS systems, ATS systems, MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

Soft Skills You Will Have

  • Your highly developed time management skills, systematic approach to  organization/planning and keen attention to detail. 
  • Your excellent written and verbal communications skills with a proficiency in diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, approachable and able to connect with a diverse set of candidates and staff. 
  • Your demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills that identify and recommend solutions to the determined issues.
  • Your ability to build and maintain positive business relationships with various levels of staff, candidates, vendors and other NCCPA stakeholders. . 

Extra Skills You Can Bring Along

  • Active SHRM or PHR Certification.  
  • Experience working as a Human Resources Specialist, Generalist, Associate or Recruiter. 
  • Experience working for a non-profit, public sector or small employer
