Job Details

NCCPA requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of December 15, 2021, unless the employee qualifies for a legally required exemption. New hires must provide proof  of full COVID-19 vaccination at the time of hire, and offers of employment will be contingent on compliance with NCCPA’s COVID-19 vaccination policy. 

Certification Specialist I  

Location: While NCCPA is temporarily working remote due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the nature of this position requires that the candidate report into the Johns Creek office to complete certain duties. NCCPA is anticipating a staggered transition back into our Johns Creek office in February 2022. 

Reports To: Director of Information Services & Certification Maintenance

The Certification Maintenance Team works diligently to manage the operational processes that support the Physician Assistant's certification maintenance requirements according to established NCCPA standards. We are a team of customer service focused, highly organized multi-taskers with a great attention to detail.

As a Certification Specialist I, you will work as an integral part of our dynamic team supporting NCCPA's certification maintenance process. 

How Will You Make a Difference? You will…

  • Respond to continued medical education (CME) related questions from external and internal customers via phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Perform all aspects of the credentialing, continued medical education (CME) audits, and conference logging processes. Perform CME audits according to established NCCPA standards.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to include mailing, emailing, faxing, scanning, and copying services. 
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with outside stakeholders such as the state licensing boards regarding credentialing and the State Board Portal.

Hard Skills You Will Have

  • An Associate degree preferably in Business, or healthcare related field.  A higher level of work experience in the related field may be substituted for education.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications especially in Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • An ability to read and interpret organizational policies, procedures, and other job specific documentation.
  • Your proven analytical approach and proactive problem-solving skills that identify and recommend solutions to the determined issues.

  • Your highly developed time management skills, systematic approach to organization/planning and keen attention to detail. 
  • Your excellent written and verbal communications skills with a proficiency in diplomacy and confidentiality. 
  • Your ability to provide exceptional customer service and interact with both internal and external customers in a timely, positive and professional manner.
  • Your proven ability to manage competing priorities and accomplishing tasks within the agreed upon timeframe. 

Extra Skills You Can Bring Along

  • A Bachelors degree or currently working towards completion. A higher degree from an accredited institution may be substituted for experience. 
  • Two or more years of professional experience as an Administrative Assistant or similar clerical role or medical credentialing role.
