Holy Comforter/Friendship Center Administrator Job Description

Work Schedule

  • 20 hours per week
  • Required: Tuesdays 8am – 3 pm; Thursdays 8am – 3pm
  • Remaining hours to be worked on flex time with notice given to fellow staff members of general working hours


  • Check mail/voicemail/email


  • Deposit checks and cash throughout the week
  • Input weekly contributions to Realm
  • Wednesday night supper coordination: establish schedule of other churches to provide dinner, send reminders
  • Realm: weekly data entry as needed
  • Attend and participate in bi-weekly staff meetings and all staff development projects
  • Send weekly email to church mailing list
  • Prepare Sunday bulletin

On Going

  • Building and Property management:
  • Oversee Sexton’s work: print out tasks lists and coordinate his schedule
  • Contact service providers and schedule necessary building maintenance/repairs
  • Office administration:
  • Acknowledgement letters for donations
  • Parish life: prepare and submit the appropriate paperwork for baptisms, confirmations, transfers, marriages, burials, etc…
  • Maintain master calendar for the church and non-profit
  • Work with parishioners/participants on various needs around medical appointments, social security, and Medicare sign ups
  • Development Needs
  • Assist/support fundraising events
  • Maintain a donor database (including contacting current donors)
  • Record donations
  • Research potential donors and scheduling meetings with the ED
  • Mail flyers and other event specific material
  • Annually

    • Recurring Annual Maintenance
    • Draft the upcoming year’s Wednesday Night Supper schedule. Contact the parishes to confirm. Begin this process around October of each year.
    • Parochial report: work with the Financial Administrator to prepare the report and submit it to the Diocese
    • Occasional duties not otherwise specified
    • Send giving statements
    • End of year giving campaign mailers

    • Basic web design
    • Social media
  • Heart for mental health advocacy and care
  • Fundraising experiencing
  • Working knowledge of Episcopal Church policy and theology
