The Communications Manager is responsible for the management of key components of the overall communications strategy, with an emphasis on digital communications. The Communications Manager will work with the Director of Communications on development, implementation, and evaluation of internal and external communications. The Communications Manager will manage all aspects of RCI’s digital communications, including website, social media, and email marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop content for and manage social media properties; review, approve, and post social media requests from colleagues; evaluate reach and effectiveness of platforms and guide overall social media strategy
- Manage and maintain organization’s website(s)
- Oversee email marketing platform and serve as internal subject matter expert; manage all external email communications and assist colleagues with external emails as needed
- Oversee development and dissemination of monthly newsletter
- Stay current on emerging issues related to caregiving
- Assist with media strategy as needed, including maintaining media lists, monitoring media coverage, prepping spokespeople, and drafting media advisories, statements, LTEs, and press releases, in order to improve the recognition of RCI as a leading organization among the news media, policy makers, researchers, and caregivers
- Develop and produce collateral as needed, including printed and digital assets using Adobe Suite and Canva
- Draft organizational messaging, including talking points and message maps
- Assist other staff in producing department-specific communications
- Maintain consistency of brand and messaging in all media channels and communications
- Work collaboratively with consultants
- Work directly with Senior Leadership Team to cultivate appropriate peer and funder relationships that result in future engagement and funding of RCI, maintaining a high level of professionalism, performance, and integrity in these relationships
- Maintain and share consistent documentation of interactions on behalf of RCI, as well as providing regular reports and updates on these to drive organizational strategy.

Qualifications:
- Some graphic design skills and familiarity with Adobe Design Suite and/or Canva
- Exposure to, and familiarity with, the lived experience of caregivers
- Experience with WordPress and/or familiarity with basic website design/updating
- Experience with email marketing software, including managing campaigns and targeting audiences
- Experience with social media, including drafting social content (text and imagery) and evaluating its success. In particular, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
- Experience with Google Analytics
- Experience with digital advertising platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Google.
- Skilled in oral and written communication
