The Opportunity

The School Design team partners directly with school communities to reimagine, build, and spread innovative school models. In pursuit of these aims, the team facilitates in-person workshops and events, provides individualized coaching to school design teams, and organizes learning cohorts. We currently organize our work into multiple Portfolios, which in turn support a set of related projects.

The backbone of each Portfolio is the Operations Manager! Operations Managers support the thoughtful planning and successful execution of our projects and provide essential project-management, communications, and logistics support to ensure smooth operations for Transcend’s portfolio teams. You will ask the important questions and listen closely, so that you can mastermind the suite of project management and operational needs for your team.

In this role, you will get to:

  • Serve as project manager for a portfolio team  – creating and managing timelines, supporting our coaches anticipate and navigate through conflicts, and coordinating project plans across a portfolio.
  •
  • Lead and manage operations and logistics for various workshops and events, learning experiences, and redesign cohorts, both virtually through zoom and in-person. This ranges from leading operations for 2 hour, 15 person zoom calls; to operations for 4 day in person retreats with over 60 participants.
  • Craft and manage operations-focused communications with internal staff, school partners, and our learning cohorts and communities.
  • Mastermind group travel plans and coordinate with local vendors such as venues, hotels, transportation, and meals. Note: this does not include booking individuals’ travel.
  •
  • Spearhead smooth internal operations such as scheduling, preparing agendas, taking notes, and capturing (and managing follow-through on) next steps.
  • Support team special projects like planning team stepbacks, designing school application processes, creating internal team websites to organize resources, and creating and updating cohort websites through a website builder platform.
