About Mosaic Georgia

Mosaic Georgia is a Sexual Assault and Children’s Advocacy Center in Gwinnett County, Georgia.  We serves more than 2,000 new victims of sex crimes annually. We follow the Children's Advocacy Center model of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) approach to victim advocacy and family support. 

Services in our primary center include:   24/7 crisis line, CSEC response & advocacy, Forensic Medical Exams (aka "rape kit"), Forensic Interviews, Advocacy Services, and Campus Outreach.

Our Resilience Center is home to many after-care resources including Civil Legal Services, Counseling, Support Groups, and a new Wholeness Project.  Professional education & training, Prevention education, and Community Outreach are also in this facility.   

Position Summary:  

The bilingual licensed counselor/therapist will provide trauma-focused treatment services and warm referrals for English- and Spanish-speaking clients.  The ideal candidate is experienced working with children, adolescents, and/or adults who have experienced sexualized violence.  Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of clients and their families.

This person will also plan and facilitate a variety of support group programs for diverse populations (children, teens, adults, LGBTQ, parents) for Spanish-speaking clients. 

Full-time position with some evening and weekend hours. Bi-lingual skills a MUST.  Reports to the Counseling Manager. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Counseling Services:  Provide treatment to individuals, families, and groups using a variety of psycho-therapeutic and counseling techniques.  Evaluate suitability of clients for therapeutic intervention in accordance with accepted standards of clinical practice.  Establish realistic goals and timeframes and terminate treatment or refer to other resources after appropriate consultations. Document the compliance to and/or progress of therapy in relation to the client’s treatment plan. Analyze results of treatment efforts for indications of progress; alter therapeutic approach and plan accordingly. 

Support Group Programs:  Plan and coordinate variety of support group programs for wide variety of trauma-experienced populations. Facilitates therapeutic group sessions with clients and members of clients’ support system. Lead Psycho-Ed groups on various topics related to trauma recovery. 

Art, music, yoga, and other modalities are encouraged. 

Counseling Referrals:  Provide support in delivering crisis counseling and assessments when required.  Assemble information, screen internal referrals, and assign service priorities to all clients who are referred to Mosaic Georgia. Coordinate referrals to third-party behavioral health professionals; facilitate linkages to services within Mosaic Georgia and to other service organizations.  

Collaborate with Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT):  Employ case management approach to connecting clients with supportive services both within Mosaic Georgia and other organizations.  Maintain contact with providers to document whether services are utilized. Participate in regular CAC MDT meetings with allied partners. Work with the legal system to provide accurate documents and competent expert testimony in court as required. 

Confidentiality and Professional Judgement:   Demonstrate sound judgment, maturity, and ability to act with objectivity and empathy in crises. Maintain confidentiality of clients and client records. Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and file reports promptly. Adheres to all laws and the Code of Ethics for counselors, which establishes standards for the relationship between clients/counselors.

  • Trained and experienced in trauma-informed therapeutic modalities. 
  • Has strong understanding of child development, family systems, group dynamics, and neurobiology of trauma. 
  • Strong relational skills – ability to genuinely relate to people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Strong computer literacy using the Microsoft Office applications (excel, word, power point, outlook); experience working with client information system, CaseWorthy, Collaborate and Salesforce experience preferred.

Education & Licensure Requirements: 

  • Currently a Georgia Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Georgia.
    • Associate Licensed Therapist are encouraged to apply
  • Maintain licensure and certifications required for performance of professional duties. 
  • Master's degree in related field required (behavioral sciences, social work, psychology, counseling, criminal justice).
  • At least 1 to 3 years of direct-victim service experience in child sexual abuse; sexual assault/ domestic violence.
  • Bilingual AND fluent (reading, writing, conversation) in English and another language (preferably Spanish).
