The Afterschool Program Director will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and administration of all enrichment/academic programs at the SPARC Kid’s Academy.
This is a contract position that does not provide benefits and pays $15 per hour/20 hours per week.
The specific duties of the Site Director include but is not limited to the following:
· create and implement fun, engaging developmentally appropriate activities primarily in the areas of reading and math for students in grades K-5
· Maintain cleanliness in all program areas; including the upkeep of the equipment and facility in an acceptable manner and the set-up and breakdown during the program day to contribute to ongoing efforts to keep the Club orderly
· Communicates with SPARC Kid’s Academy parents and school personnel regarding program activities and student achievement
· Design a program schedule/calendar/curriculum that includes a variety of educational, enrichment, and recreational activities
· Ensure all supplies and snacks are kept well stocked
· student recruitment/registration
· prudent fiscal management for collection of fees associated with on-site fee based programs
· coordination of parent engagement program
· ensure all health and safety protocols are followed, with a particular emphasis on Covid 19 guidelines
· act as the liaison with parents, collaborators, school management, volunteers, and visitors to display the site and program positively
· collection of program data and provide reports for contract compliance
· Supervise, train, mentor, coach, and manage all staff, students and volunteers in the program at the site
· Maintain comprehensive student and volunteer records and produce reports as required
Education/Experience/Skills
It is preferred that the Site Director possess a BA/BS and have 2-3 years experience in developing and implementing youth academic enrichment programs.
They should also possess the following:
· Ability to provide homework assistance to students in grades K-5
· Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate in a public school setting
· First Aid and CPR certification preferred
· possess strong computer skills, have the ability to track data and produce reports
· Possess excellent communication, supervisory, administrative, and fiscal management skills
· Experience working with youth in a classroom, after school, or recreation environmen
