Job Title: Adult Education Coordinator 

Department: Economic Empowerment 

Reports to: Adult Education Manager 

Full time, in-person position. 

Position Purpose: To assist the Adult Education Manager with the ESL, Spanish and Computer programs. All programs are operating both in-person and online. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Provide excellent customer service in Spanish to current and prospective students. This includes sharing information about group, corporate or individual classes, via email, phone or in person. 
  • Assist with student registrations, administering the placement test to new students, receiving payments and managing data (new and returning students). 
  • Administer evaluations to students (both mid-point and end of session evaluations) and analyze the data to improve programs. 
  • Support class scheduling (considering resources such as teachers, rooms and locations) and provide logistical support to teachers and students throughout the session. 
  • Reconcile data from students and teachers to generate management reports and to fulfill LAA Data management requirements. Keep updated metrics of the program. These metrics include but are not limited to # students, attendance percentage, graduation rates, etc. 
  • Collaborate with LAA Marketing department to ensure program goals are met. This includes marketing material production (flyers, social media posts, online marketing campaigns, etc.), email blast distribution and updates on the LAA websites (English and Spanish). 
  • Assist in hiring and managing class instructors and program interns and volunteers. 
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as updating handbook, creating letters of completion for students, maintain book inventory, printing certificates for students, and others as needed. 
  • Communicate with students and teachers when needed. Example: Inclement weather situations, changes of rooms, etc. Update bulletin boards in reception, classroom hallways and teacher’s room. 
  • Responsible for the equipment that teachers use on a daily basis, including projectors, computers, speakers, chairs, tables, boards, etc. 
  • Payments reconciliation (cash and credit card), and submission to accounting. 
  • Help oversee the set-up and coordination of any special event within the department. 

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English AND Spanish REQUIRED 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required 
  • Ability to prioritize, implement and deliver high-quality programming on time and on budget 
  • Ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data, evaluate effectiveness of programming and make adjustments as indicated 
  • Comprehensive understanding of the needs of the Latino community 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Zoom 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
