The Atlanta Police Foundation (APF), established in 2003, brings together the public and private sectors, with the mission of making Atlanta a safer city for residents and visitors. Through public safety strategies and partnerships, APF, a 501(c)3, provides a means for individuals, community members, and businesses to engage and donate funds, with the goal of preventing and reducing crime. APF’s programs address the city’s public safety needs, including increasing police visibility, using state of the art technology to fight and prevent crime, and working to create strong leaders in the Atlanta Police Department through enhanced training and education.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a new position as a result of growth creating an opportunity for someone who is bright, technical, detail oriented, organized and a quick learner to support the efforts of the development team.  A key focus of this position is to ensure completion of data updates and management of donor cultivation (Raiser’s edge) It’s important to have the ability to multitask and effectively juggle priorities and be responsive to urgent requests and deadlines. A high degree professionalism and prudence is essential in communication with keys stakeholders, donors, corporate entities and community partners and employees as well as handling exposure to sensitive information and confidential discussions. The Development Administrator will be charged with developing and managing strong cultivation and stewardship programs for all individual and corporate donors. This position will oversee incoming revenue and keep the Development team informed, realize direct mailers, manage all giving platforms, oversee e-mail solicitation strategies, and lead the Development team on processing data analytics for strategic effort and execution.  The Development Administrator will focus on strategically expanding the organization's internal management of donor stewardship and expansion with a goal of significantly increasing the base of individual and corporate gifts. Reporting to the Vice President, the Development Administrator will play an important role in helping the organization reach its multi-million-dollar campaign goal. The ideal candidate is a data driven, creative and strategic thinker, with both proven and innovative methods to acquire, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge
  • Expand and lead a comprehensive, innovative stewardship program to develop individual donors, corporate donors and 360-degree evaluation of current donors.
  • Work closely to realize development department strategies and KPI’s by realizing donors e-campaigns, direct mail campaigns, increasing average gift amounts of current donors and expansion of new donors.
  • Work closely with the Development Director, Events Coordinator, and other staff to develop fundraising strategies and integrate with organization-wide programs.
  • Serve as an active prospect identifier, targeting prospects for personal gifts and corporate gifts.
  • Lead and oversee the daily operation of the donor database (Donor Perfect), which tracks gift/financial and biographical information on donors and stakeholders.
  • Provides excellent donor-centric service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our donors.
  • Ensures that all donors are properly acknowledged in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Development and Communications teams on the planning and production of special events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • 3-5 year’s development experience working in annual giving programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, planning, analytical, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Excellent written communication skills with demonstrated ability to creatively and persuasively convey messages to various audiences.
  • Ability to manage a comprehensive fundraising strategy and oversee donor database.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, Power Point & Publisher.
  • Experience with Donor Perfect or other donor data base is required.
