Bilingual (English/Cantonese) Digital Literacy Instructor – Part-time

Part-time, up to 20 hours a week position
Salary $20-25 per hour DOQ

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Bilingual Digital Literacy Instructor, who must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area, will be energetic and enthusiastic about providing quality digital literacy training to our learners and collaborating with team members to develop and improve digital literacy programs. We are looking for personable, hard-working team players who are open to learning new things, able to work on their own initiative, and enjoy working in a fast-paced work environment. Instruction will take place online and in-person at a variety of training sites in San Francisco and the East Bay. Ideal candidates should be passionate about digital literacy and public access to technology. The Digital Literacy Instructors will report to the Training Manager. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver Digital Literacy Training Provide digital literacy training to adults virtually and/or in-person at partners’ sites in San Francisco and the East Bay Follow an established curriculum to provide 1-on-1 or group training to help adults develop skills to safely and confidently use technology Adjust curriculum to address identified needs within a student cohort Translate curriculum and documents from English to Chinese

Community Support

• Act as CTN representative and liaison within CTN learner communities (depending on instructor’s language proficiencies)

Service Delivery Coordination

• Configure devices for learners based on a set-up guide before classes Attend planning and check-in meetings online

Data Management & Reporting

• Ensure that all setup / follow-up and instruction hours are reported for each session Complete and document online assessment of individuals to determine computer skills and training needs Collect and report additional data about programs, services, and volunteers, as needed by CTN

Public Relations

• Represent CTN at community-based online and in-person events Use social media to share information about CTN programs and raise awareness Contribute content to the CTN website and monthly e-newsletter

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be bilingual in Cantonese and English 2 years of college/university-level study or bachelors degree Two years of experience delivering tutoring or training to older adults
