Job Title: Manager of Grants and Institutional Giving 

Department: Advancement                                              

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00am 5:00pm                                                 

Supervisor: Chief Advancement Officer 

Exemption Status: Exempt                                         

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Manager of Grants and Institutional Giving is responsible for researching, creating and writing grant proposals to fund New American Pathways’ initiatives and programs. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, and working closely with Program and Business Management staff, the Manager of Grants and Institutional Giving plays a key role in the Advancement team's shared fundraising revenue goal to support the agency.  This position serves as the key contact for foundation, corporate, faith-based, civic and a select portfolio of public/government prospects and funders                                                

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundation, corporate, faith and civic funders 
  • Write and submit grant requests/funding proposals 
  • Research new grant opportunities and renew existing grants 
  • Facilitate site visits and cultivation activities, as necessary 
  • Work with the program team to develop strategies to define growth opportunities 
  • Collaborate with the program team to define goals, objectives and outcome reporting that is consistent with grant requirements  
  • Involve key staff and/or Board members when appropriate in the grant submission process 
  • Obtain needed documentation, budgets, statistics, references and other materials or information as needed for all grants 
  • Meet as required with Program, Finance & HR to ensure that established budgetary revenue and expenses for all grants are understood 
  • Prepare reports on progress as required  
  • Work with CEO, CFO and Chief Advancement Officer to create an annual revenue strategy 
  • Ensure timely acknowledgement of all grant awards/appropriate recognition of all grantors 
  • Work with minimal supervision 
  • Read and interpret documents such as Request for Proposals (RFP’s) 
  • Serve as point of contact with external funders 
  • Convey New American Pathways’ mission to funders 
  • Track cultivation efforts in donor database                   

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience 
  • Experience in identifying, drafting, and submitting proposals for funding from governmental, corporate, or foundation sources and/or experience in sponsored program administration,  
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a diverse constituency, including government granting agencies, corporate funders, and institutional foundations 
  • High degree of conscientiousness to actively seek and identify opportunities to contribute to and achieve fundraising goals 
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities/deadlines 
  • Experience with a refugee serving organization or social services agency preferred                                                          

COMPENSATION  

This is a full-time, salaried position with an annual salary range of $55,000 -$65,000. Employer benefits includes, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. There are14 paid holidays and a generous paid time off policy. Employee has the option to contribute to 401(k).
