Unite is a multi-cultural, multi-denominational movement of churches who are partnering together to see the people of our communities flourish – spiritually, physically, vocationally, socially, and educationally.  Churches are working together closely with community members and leaders to see this vision realized.

We serve churches – equipping and mobilizing them to help reach their goal of seeing God glorified through loving him and loving people – finding meaningful and effective ways to mobilize outside the walls of their church. We know that church leaders lack bandwidth, community building skills, and the capacity to make the difference they are hoping to see in their community.

We do this through playing the role of connector, equipper, and mobilizer.  We do this through training and mobilizing Flourishing Catalysts (a point person) into local communities who then work together with our Unite Hub in the process of building relationships, learning from and about our communities, equipping church leaders around community needs and community development best practices and then catalyzing the churches together in partnership to invest in their local community.

The primary way that Unite will equip and mobilize churches to connect and engage in their community/city will be through Flourishing Catalysts that we recruit, equip, and coach.  This will be an in-depth program that will last a year or more of learning and understanding key principles for equipping church leaders and churches to be healthy and to engage their communities for flourishing. It will also include engagement in building relationships in a region as well as overall UHub events.

The person who leads our organization will be a person who embraces and lives congruent with our values. Values of:

Relationships: Cultivating deep relationships is the foundation for authentic community and lasting change. We see all people as valuable in who they are more than what they do, and we strive to leverage our relationships to bring about growth, healing, and redemption.

Collaboration: Collaborating means humbly partnering to share what we have, join in the work of others, and learn from the experienced.  In doing this we believe we are stronger and better together – unifying across racial lines, denominations, and sectors– to pursue the flourishing of the city.

Flourishing: Flourishing is the holistic thriving of the city from individual and community to neighborhood and the halls of government. Rooted in the biblical vision of shalom, it demands the pursuit of individual and communal equity for all - showing a particular concern for the vulnerable and the oppressed.

Objectives/Outcomes:  You are crucial as we seek to do the work of uniting churches to collaborate for community flourishing. If you do your job well, the outcomes will be:

  • We will have clear organizational vision, strategy, and direction
