NOTE: This contracting role will be granted the opportunity to work from home temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the intent to return to the Bert's Big Adventure office location (Atlanta) in the future. Bert's Big Adventure reserves the right to change remote work status with notice. 

JOB SUMMARY

Primary responsibilities are to effectively and proactively manage the Bert's Big Adventure Raiser's Edge database environment supporting the organization's mission and programs while protecting the integrity and confidentiality of the data.  This role will also serve as a liaison to the finance department and lead efforts to strengthen operations to increase funds raised for the organization. Gift and constituent record management, reporting, communications, and working within a strong team environment as a subject matter expert are high on the list of priorities.

This is a 20-25 hours per week (hourly) position.  

This position reports to the Executive Director and supports Development, Finance, and Program Departments in fundraising administration, financial controls, and family and volunteer information systems.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

CERTIFICATION SUMMARY

  • Raiser's Edge Fundamentals, Raiser's Edge NXT Fundamentals, or Raiser's Edge NXT Professional certification

EXPERIENCE*

  • 3 years of experience in database management within a nonprofit organization.
  • 3 years of experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and Omatic Tools. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced skills in management and functionality of Blackbaud products, specifically Raiser's Edge 7 and Raiser's Edge NXT.
  • Experience with Omatic suites products, specifically ImportOmatic.
  • Experience in project management and/or business analysis
  • Experience in fundraising

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication, organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to focus, multitask, manage priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing situations within the organization.
  • Must be able to work without direct supervision, be self-motivated,  and be adaptable to support multiple program areas as needed.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, and mission-related database systems, preferably on MacOS.
  • Must have an aptitude for detailed work and strong analytical/problem-solving skills

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

Database Management:

  • Must be subject matter expert of Raiser's Edge, RENXT, Omatic tools, and Bert's Big Adventure data structure.
  • Manage all aspects of gifts, ensuring that contributions are processed promptly, reviewed for accuracy, reconciled with QuickBooks, and generate weekly gift acknowledgments and gift receipts as necessary.
  • Manage all aspects of constituent records, ensuring that donor and gift information is accurate and up to date. Perform data cleansing activities as needed, including but not limited to resolving duplicates and record merges.
  • Build complex queries, exports, letters, event forms, and reports and review existing ones for accuracy and effectiveness utilizing RE, RENXT, Online Express, Omatic, and other tools available to the Bert's Big Adventure staff.

Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze data to reveal areas of concern and work with the staff to define and develop functions to alert and resolve issues.
  • Develop and generate reporting for the Executive Director, Development Department, Board of Directors, and other staff members as needed.

Communication:

  • Manage and develop mailings for the Development and other departments as needed.
  • Maintain effective internal communication with staff and external communications with Bert's Big Adventure families, volunteers, and supporters, as required.

Documentation and Training:

  • Team Training: Develop team training around database functionality, policies, and procedures as needed.
  • Support all staff and partners on Raiser's Edge basics and gift processing procedures, and train as needed.
  • Policies and Procedures: Create and maintain policies (including business rules) and operational procedures.
  • Support all staff on special projects.

Identifies potential risk areas within the scope of responsibility and supports the problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to appropriate staff.
  • Confidentiality:  Staff members are required to protect and ensure the integrity of data containing personal and sensitive information.
