The Roman Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, encompassing the state of Delaware and the nine counties of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and serving over 200,000 Catholics, is a believing community, professing its faith in God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington is a faith-based, social services organization, delivering critical direct care human services to over 83,000 individuals and families residing in Delaware and Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore. No one is excluded from service because of race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, national origin, or ability to pay. Catholic Charities has a contract with the State of Delaware Division of State Service Centers (DSSC) to administer the Delaware Energy Assistance Program (DEAP) part of a federally funded program, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), for families that need help in meeting their costs of home energy.

Reporting to the Director of Program Operations, the Program Manager of the Delaware Energy Assistance Program (DEAP) directs, develops, evaluates, and administers the Delaware Energy Assistance Program (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program - LIHEAP) under contract with the Office of Community Services of the State of Delaware. The Program manager is responsible for managing the program staff.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience including supervision; experience with LIHEAP or administration of government contracts preferred. The successful candidate must have an appreciation and passion for the mission of the Diocese of Wilmington and the work of Catholic Charities. Must be proficient in supervisory, management, and budgeting with the ability to lead, motivate, and manage, with sound decision-making and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate must have the ability to work within the terms of Federal and State contractual requirements. He/she must have organizational and supervisory skills that will motivate and inspire staff while setting high expectations and professional direction. Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Business Management, or related field required. Willing and able to travel within the footprint of the Diocese of Wilmington.
