Job Details

Kids Alive International is a Christ-centered organization that believes every child deserves to live free from the bondage of hunger, abuse, and exploitation. This belief compels us to model God’s love to vulnerable children, and to meet their spiritual, physical, educational, and emotional needs with compassion and excellence. We are over 100 years old, but our relocation to Metro Atlanta has provided an opportunity to refresh our methods and traditions. We’re adding new staff members who demonstrate emotional and spiritual maturity, flexibility, self-motivation, curiosity, collaboration, and accountability.

We are seeking a Director of Faith Community Initiatives to help shape and lead our new direction. The successful candidate will come with the ability to build, maintain, and deepen partnerships with faith communities and Christ-centered organizations across all traditions to secure financial and faith-based support for our mission and vision. They will effectively communicate in a welcoming and engaging way the impact of Kids Alive’s work around the world and will invite faith communities alongside of us to encounter the complex issues affecting vulnerable populations. They will demonstrate servant-hearted leadership to internal teams and external stakeholders as they seek to mobilize the Body of Christ in a way that brings about sustainable aid and Biblical justice for “the orphan and the widow” (James 1:27).

In this role you will:

  • Provide strategy, vision, and leadership to a team focused on engaging faith communities as well as in collaborative efforts across all areas of the organization.
  • Develop and manage strategies for engaging with faith community relationships in the assigned portfolio and a system for tracking them
  • Create awareness for how Christian faith leadership and communities can carry out the message of the Gospel and partner with Kids Alive to further His Kingdom
  • Present about the impact and benefit of partnership with Kids Alive in a variety of faith-based environments: to churches, organizations, individuals, and other groups
  • Accompany key faith community partners as they travel internationally to engage in activities such as Vision Trips and Service Teams
  • Fully utilize the organization’s tools and resources to identify, contact, and cultivate relationships and partnerships with faith communities and organizations, tracking all activity in our donor and stakeholder database

We are looking for individuals with:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field, Master’s Degree preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience with identifying, cultivating, and sustaining constituent relationships and networks
  • Significant experience leading successful teams
  • Experience in ministry, lay ministry, or missionary work, preferably in contexts of cultural diversity or vulnerable populations
  • Proficiency in developing, directing, and executing multiple projects and implementing strategic program goals to completion
  • An understanding of and sensitivity to the unique challenges of working globally, respecting the diversity of people and cultures
  • An understanding of the formal and organic roles of faith communities in engaging with the world around them
  • Language proficiency in Spanish and/or French is an added benefit
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, donor/CRM databases, etc.
  • A valid Driver’s License and passport as the role requires up to 40% travel

At our organization, it is important to have a committed personal Christian faith in Jesus Christ and a heart for serving orphans and vulnerable children. We seek candidates with alignment to the driving mission, vision, and core values of Kids Alive International, the Bible, Christian theology, faith, and practice. Company

At Kids Alive International we believe every child, even those with the most challenging needs, is a priority to God, and far too many are overlooked, unheard, exploited, and threatened. Our mission is the call of Isaiah 1:17, to serve these children by constantly learning better ways to meet their needs, earnestly seeking justice for them, empowering them for a healthy future, and advocating for community change.

Accomplishing that mission means every child we serve will have a present and future where they:
• Enjoy a vibrant, life changing relationship with God
• Experience emotional and physical well being
• Are equipped for a life of independence and service
• Live life in family and community, free of fear and violence

Our strategy for implementation includes:
Preventive Programs: ...an early intervention through education, meeting physical needs, and providing discipleship that promotes hope in difficult circumstances.
Strengthening Programs: ...when a child is at a higher level of risk or has experienced abuse. We promote healing through family strengthening, community awareness, social services, therapy, discipleship, and legal support.
Restorative Programs: ...(in collaboration with child protection systems) if a child must be legally removed from family or has no family option. These interventions focus on the rights of the child, holistic restoration, and a pathway to permanency in a family home.
Systems Programs: ...working with governments and like minded organizations to create more just and responsive systems for children, and to reduce violence and exploitation in communities
