Job Details

The Director of Data, Outcomes, and Compliance directs and oversees the design and development of systems used for managing data.  Responsible for maintaining and monitoring the data system to ensure it meets organizational requirements.  The Director is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) data and program outcomes.   

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work as directed to support the HOPE Atlanta organization and team members
  • Serves on the organization’s leadership team and participates in strategic and tactical planning, including but not limited to participating on Board task groups
  • Performs analysis and support for the duties related to the federal, local and state grants, including maintaining records required by grantors.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Contracts and Grants, assist with the submission of reports for the Continuum of Care Application (CoC), Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR), Annual Performance Report (APR) as well as any other reports needed.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to ensure completeness and congruity of records against HMIS
  • Generate and compile database reports as requested by funders and leadership
  • Compile annual demographic reports
  • Ensures program accountability by conducting random inspections of facilities and documentation as well as conducts and analyzes client, stakeholder, and staff surveys
  • Facilitates the support and training of staff on using the HMIS and interpreting data reports
  • Analyze and report on information received in Critical Incident Reports

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as necessary
  • Assists in fund raising opportunities and participates in agency donor and community events

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human/Social Services field, Management Information Systems, or Project Management
  • One-year experience generating reports and troubleshooting data errors in HMIS, Client Track experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with and work well with all levels within the organization specifically working effectively within the culture and processes used in homeless services
  • Strong organization, critical thinking, problem solving, communication and creative skills
  • Ability to summarize issues, develop recommendations and make decisions
  • High aptitude for learning and ability to work with technology and people
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Salesforce, HMIS systems, etc.  
  • Strong time management skills; highly organized and detail oriented
  • Able to function well in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
