40 hours a week  non–exempt position

Salary: $20.00 –  $24.00 per hour- depends on experience

Summary of primary job functions

Under the support of the Executive Director of Walnut Avenue Family & Women’s Center, the Bilingual Early Education Program Administrator co-leads the Early Education Center (EEC) programs with the Site Supervisor. The Early Education Center Site Supervisor runs the daily operations of the center and provides the primary support to all EEC staff. The Bilingual Early Education Program Administrator is responsible for administrative tasks including grant management and enrollment of families into the program. Together the Bilingual Early Education Program Administrator and Site Supervisor ensure that the center complies with State Licensing regulations, Title 22 & Tile 5 requirements and ensure that the program adheres to all grant terms and conditions.

Overview of position

  • Improve the well-being of individuals living in Santa Cruz County utilizing a strength-based, trauma-informed approach of education, skill building and support
  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing the Early Education Center (EEC) programs’ missions, goals, and projects in compliance with standards outlined by the funding sources and Walnut Avenue Family & Women’s Center
  • In partnership with the Site Supervisor and the rest of the agency Leadership Team, provide leadership and inspiration to the overall staff of the agency, in particular the EEC staff
  • Ensure EEC programs are run within budgetary alignment of the agency as well as fiscal accountability/compliance with all grants, local, state & federal regulations, and standards.
  • Work with the Site Supervisor to coordinate program components based on department and agency standards as well as strategic goals
  • Maintain a work environment that is centered on equity and that uses a strength-based and shared leadership model. Maintain a culture where staff input is encouraged and celebrated

Job Specific Knowledge, Skill & Abilities

Walnut Avenue Family & Women’s Center complies with ADA including providing reasonable accommodations.

  • Regular use of hands, wrists, and finger movements; ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboard), writing (notetaking). Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time; twisting, bending, pushing, pulling, holding, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to hear normal speech, hear and talk to exchange information in person and telephone
  • Ability to think and work effectively under pressure; Ability to effectively serve participants; decision making, maintain a concentrated level of attention to information communicate in person and by telephone throughout a typical workday; ability to understand and retain instructions from supervisor in person, by email or by telephone; attention to detail.
  • Bilingual/Bi-literate (English/Spanish) required– bilingual pay differential provided
  • Must possess valid CPR certification and Pediatric First Aid training certificate or be willing to complete within first 3 months of hire
  • Must be Health Screened : Proof of full immunization and proof of negative TB tested  
  • Experience managing CDE grants (CSPP, CCTR and CACFP) preferred but not required. Some grant data collection/reporting experience extremely helpful.
  • Utilize computer programs to effectively respond to job requirements
  • Excellent time management and organization skills to work effectively and to provide responsible leadership
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with other staff, parents and representatives of community organizations and agencies  
  • It is helpful if you meet Title 5 Requirements for a Director or Site Supervisor, but it is not required for this position
