About the Center for Civic Innovation:

The Center for Civic Innovation is a nonprofit organization that gets into good, necessary trouble to fight inequality in Atlanta by informing and inspiring the public, investing in and amplifying the work of community leaders, and advocating for local policy change.

The Center for Civic Innovation is looking for a Communications Director. This role is CCI’s storyteller, central to creating a narrative for our efforts to address inequality. Using various platforms and outlets, the Communications Director strategizes and exemplifies how we share stories about our people and programs, promotes events, and regularly provides educational civics content to the public.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manage creative communications strategies across all programs

• Create written content for all social platforms that helps tell our story and increase engagement

• Oversee the development of  long and short-form  digital, video, audio and print content

• Maintain and amplify CCI’s brand and voice online and offline

• Lead a team of contracted design, marketing and PR/media specialists to distribute communication materials

• Represent the organization at events to market initiatives and programs

• Track engagement across various platforms (i.e., social media, Mailchimp, ads) and make data-driven decisions on promotions

Experience and Skills:

• Committed to disrupting the impacts of inequality in Atlanta

• Committed to racial equity

• An excellent written communicator, both via email and social media

• Creative and a visual thinker with a strong design eye

• Experienced in managing consistent communications on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.) and pulling analytics on performance and engagement

• Experienced in email communications, including using and customizing MailChimp templates.

• Familiar with web and graphic design to create simple web changes or flyers when needed (via Canva, In-Design, etc)

• Capable of identifying and managing multiple contractors and vendors for web, design, PR, and communications services

• Advanced in using G Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Gcal), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MailChimp, Slack, Asana, and Airtable other tools

Salary:

$60,000-$75,000, negotiable and commensurate with experience
