Executive Director

St. Stephen's Human Services/House of Charity

Minneapolis, MN

About St. Stephen’s Human Services/House of Charity

Our mission is ending homelessness.

As of January 1, 2021, St. Stephen’s Human Services and House of Charity (SSHS/HOC) merged. Together, the agency is able to serve more people and provide a comprehensive continuum of services - from outreach, to shelter, food, treatment and mental health services, and ultimately, housing.

Our goal is to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness in achieving permanent, affordable housing. We progress toward this goal through street outreach, shelter, and housing programs. We meet people where they are and work together toward self-sufficiency and housing stability.

We envision a community in which housing instability is rare, brief and non-recurring, ending homelessness as we know it.

Our Values

  • Equity: Housing is a basic human right.
  • Dignity: Every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
  • Integrity: We expect honesty and accountability of ourselves and others.
  • Self-Determination: Each person has the ability to know and realize their own success.
  • Mutual Responsibility: Investing in our neighbors results in a healthy community for all.

SSHS/ HOC is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and strives to promote an environment that is diverse and inclusive where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. Employees actively participate in various committees that give voice to staff to create active participation and involvement in shaping the future of our agency.

SSHS/HOC is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from people of color, indigenous people, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
