About The Position:

As the Hands On Atlanta Senior Manager of Community and Civic Engagement, you’ll report to the Director of Marketing and Communications, leading our portfolio of capacity building programs that support our nonprofit and community partners. You’ll be responsible for managing our network of 125+ partners, growing these relationships and provide the latest tools, resources and support to make Hands On Atlanta an indispensable partner. Your work will populate our calendar of opportunities featuring over 5,000 projects annually.

Hands On Partner Services

  • Recruit, engage and support our network of 125+ nonprofits and community organizations
  • Host monthly - quarterly workshops and trainings and collaborate with community leaders and subject matter experts
  • Ensure our nonprofit and community partners are posting and sharing regular volunteer opportunities through our software
  • Collect and measure impact, satisfaction and general data from our partners
  • Manage Community and Civic Engagement Senior Coordinator and Coordinator

Manage our Impact Teams (a strategic collective impact effort of annual cohorts on nonprofits) through recruiting, workshops, trainings, events, convenings and data collection

  • Facilitate Service Enterprise trainings for up to 8 nonprofits per year

Hands On Hunger

  • Maintain and grow our relationship with the Atlanta Community Food Bank to support and measure the impact of 20 partner agencies annually
  • Partner with the Development Team for application and management of foundation and corporate grants

Support Annual Days of Service

  • Recruit and manage partners for Hands On Atlanta Week and MLK Day
  • Active member of our Hands On Atlanta Week and MLK Day committees

Preferred Experience

You’re a proven leader and the ultimate problem solver. You can make big waves with limited resources and paint the big picture, while getting in the weeds and doing the work. You have entrepreneurial mindset and is interested in building solutions to best fit the needs of the Atlanta nonprofit community. You might describe yourself as resourceful, persistent, a doer, and great at building relationships.

You have:

  • A proven track record of success in growing a portfolio of relationships and building the systems to scale
  • A passion for the power of volunteering and experience managing volunteers
  • The ability to create and facilitate trainings and workshops for a nonprofit audience (virtually and in-person)
  • An extensive understanding and robust knowledge of challenges facing Atlanta and the nonprofit sector
  • Experience working with metro Atlanta based nonprofits
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and can own your programs and their growth
  • The ability to manage logistics and balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • A passion for data and can effectively collect, measure and make decisions based on data trends and analytics
  • Excellent communication skills (an effective communicator AND a great listener)
  • The ability to be solutions-oriented under pressure
  • Experience with CRM’s and data collection tools (Salesforce, Survey Monkey, etc.)

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 7+ years of program management, account management, fundraiser or as a community manager
  • 3+ years working in the local nonprofit sector
  • Reliable transportation and ability to navigate/travel in and around greater Atlanta
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Passion for service and civic engagement (our story, mission, and vision here)
