The Georgia Academy of Family Physicians (GAFP) seeks a dynamic, self-directed, and experienced professional to oversee all aspects of GAFP’s communications. The Georgia Academy is a non-profit membership association with 3,200 family medicine physicians, residents and medical student members across the state. Our mission is to promote the health of the citizens of Georgia by advancing the specialty of family medicine through education, advocacy, and service to family physicians.
The Director of Communications will be responsible for planning, writing, designing, and distributing all the Georgia Academy’s various communications, and for maintaining and developing content for www.gafp.org . This employee will develop and implement the organization’s marketing and public relations campaigns. This employee will publish content that informs members about topics relevant to family physicians, that engages members in the work of the association, and that promotes the specialty of family medicine.
- Demonstrated skill in writing concise, compelling informational, human interest, and promotional copy, and in planning and executing marketing and public relations campaigns.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, or related discipline.
- Commitment to working in cross-functional teams and with multiple department managers.
