Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Evaluation and IT, the Senior Evaluation Specialist provides support to Communities In Schools (CIS) of Atlanta’s evaluation efforts, including data entry, evaluation training, data analysis, evaluation coordination and report writing, and preparation for those projects and programs to which the specialist has been assigned.  Additionally, the Senior Evaluation Specialist assists with preparation of reports to organizations and funders, brochures, and PowerPoint presentations as needed.

The Ideal Sr. Evaluation Specialist will provide:

Evaluation Support

  • Keep documentation of assigned evaluation projects
  • Preparation of evaluation reports, brochures, overviews, and other documents
  • Under the direction of the Evaluation Director, work closely with clients for each assigned project
  • Provide clients with reports of research findings
  • Produce graphics as needed, including graphs and custom maps for use in presentations, etc.
  • Coordinate with external evaluator on project(s) as needed

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Coordinate data collection for assigned projects
  • Data entry and checking for accuracy as needed
  • Responsible for cleaning and verifying
  • Create innovative data analysis techniques and report writing for assigned projects
  • Development of data collection tools as needed by projects

Database Management

  • Monitors the student information system and associated programs and databases
  • Provide administrative support for the CIS Atlanta database
  • Develop standards, policies, and procedures related to maintaining data and data security
  • Provide training and technical assistance to staff


  • Lead projects for affiliate accreditation within the CIS network
  • Supervise interns and volunteers for specific evaluation projects
  • Cross-functional support to Executive Leadership Team, and Programs and Development Departments


  • Provide a positive customer service
  • Attend meetings, conferences, trainings, and other events as requested by CIS of Atlanta
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Knowledge and Experience

  • Masters degree with experience in social science or education (Masters degree in other discipline acceptable with appropriate experience)
  • Three or more years of experience in data analysis and interpretation
  • Four or more years of experience using a variety of software, including word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software, required
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel and Tableau
  • Experience using Salesforce

  • Can work independently without constant supervision

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified applicants will be subject to a background investigation
  • Candidates must have own transportation, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance as required under state law
  • Candidate must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time

Physical Demands

  • Will require some light lifting
  • Must be willing to travel, as job requires


This is a full-time position. Office hours are generally 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., however it is expected that the Senior Evaluation Specialist will work additional hours as necessary depending on report deadlines.

We are currently serving four school districts; Atlanta Public Schools and Fulton, DeKalb and Clayton County schools.
