Position Description:

This professional will work 20 hours per week and is responsible for community-based dating violence prevention services.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in public speaking engagements, enhance community awareness, develop relationships with and provide Teen Dating Violence prevention education to youth, youth-serving organizations, parents, and adults.

  • Work with middle, high schools, colleges and universities to build relationships and continue to expand the dating violence prevention program.

  • Facilitate Healthy Relationships curriculum in the community, local schools, colleges, and universities.

  • Assist with annual Teen Summit planning and staffing.

  • Serve as a liaison to local area schools and community partners.

  • Assist with the Teen Dating Violence Advisory Board.

  • Utilize volunteers and interns to assist with the Dating Violence Prevention Program.

  • Assist the Dating Violence Prevention Advocate in developing content for PADV’s teen social media sites.

  • Research and find appropriate locations for the presentation of the Teen Dating Violence Prevention program.

  • Maintain and record accurate monthly statistics

  • Foster and maintain excellent, professional working relations with staff and volunteers and function as part of a team.

  • Represent PADV on committees as requested and approved by PADV.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • Knowledge of domestic violence and its impact on victims.

  • Court and legal experience and knowledge of the legal system as it relates to domestic violence.

  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.

  • Experience working with youth.

  • Experience in a complex human service organization.

  • Communicate effectively orally and written.

  • Computer and software applications skills.
