The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is comprised of a dedicated team of approximately 210 staff working collaboratively to provide close to 70 million pounds of food to over 210,000 people in the Bay Area – a region where 1 in 5 people are at risk of hunger. We are currently looking for a Program Associate to help support cross-team and cross-departmental operations. The  Program Associate: Program Operations will join a new team at the Food Bank that is part of the programs department and will provide administrative and cross-team and cross-departmental support. This will include delivery coordination, documentation of processes and protocols, and bringing efforts of multiple teams and departments into alignment. The Program Associate  will interact primarily with other Food Bank staff. Overall, the Program Associate will ensure that the Food Bank is supporting its staff and its community in our mission to end hunger. 


• Support department hiring and onboarding (schedule interviews and trainings; set new hires up with equipment and IT support, etc.

• Support staff wellness and teambuilding activities  

• Oversee recurring, collaborative cross-departmental processes as assigned, such as deliveries and returns   

• Schedule cross-team meetings and trainings. Take and publish minutes 

• Monitor storage best practices within Microsoft Teams   

• Support mass mailing/emailing, robo-dialing, surveys and flyers  

• Support private and public grant deliverables’ scheduling, monitoring and reporting  

• Support implementation of departmental documentation process: develop and ensure utilization of templates  

Other Duties as Assigned 


• Programs meet strategic organizational goals and measures 

• Create, maintain and update policies and procedures regularly 

• Delivery schedules are maintained and well organized  

• Organization achieves high marks on grant monitoring reports and audits for grants they support 


• Minimum 1 year of applicable skills and experience 

• Demonstrated success in executing comparable responsibilities 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel skills, PowerPoint, Word etc.) and Microsoft Teams 

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills 

• Ability to work and interact well with individuals (staff, volunteers, and participants) from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment 

• Ability to listen, identify, analyze, and guide lay users through system and procedural problems. 

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills 

• Ability to work efficiently, independently, and as part of a team; to communicate regularly; and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 

Preferred language fluency: 

• Cantonese, Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, or Tagalog 

Preferred knowledge: 

• Knowledge of Food Bank Programs 

• Knowledge of low-income San Francisco and/or Marin populations, neighborhoods, service providers and faith-based organizations preferred 


• Driver’s license preferred 

SALARY: Minimum $22.76 per hour with guaranteed annual 3% raises under the current Union contract
