Under the direction of the Minister to Children and Families, the Director of Early Development will partner with our youngest families to engage, equip and encourage their child’s developing faith journey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vision, direction and oversight for a dynamic and comprehensive ministry with nursery-aged children and their families
  • Build relationships with children, parents, staff, and volunteers via Sunday morning and weekday activities, Faith Milestones, personal communication, and other ministry settings
  • Collaborate with Peachtree’s Belong Communities and PPP to resource childcare
  • Faith Milestones for Births, Baptisms (along with Coordinator), and 2YO
  • Plan and implement an engaging nursery learning environment on Sunday mornings and during the week by developing curriculum, coordinating supplies and resourcing leaders and staff
  • Oversee the administration of all aspects of weekday nursery, including the registration and reservation process, billing and staffing
  • Maintain all requirements set forth by BFTS non-licensure agreement for weekday programming
  • Recruit, inspire, equip and appreciate volunteer leaders and staff for nursery programming
  • Hire, develop, resource and evaluate staff for Early Development programming; including the Sunday Nursery Coordinator, Weekday Nursery Manager, and all Childcare Staff
  • Collaborate with the Children and Family Ministry team to execute ministry events
  • Steward the resources entrusted to Children and Family Ministry in accordance to budgets provided
  • Prioritize quality standards of well-organized classrooms, low ratios, and welcoming environment as a ministry to the community and church
  • Participate regularly in worship services and the life of the church
  • Pursue personal, spiritual and professional growth
