Through compassion and collaboration, we are building a community in Silicon Valley where every pet has a home.</p> <p><u><strong>Overview</strong></u></p> <p>The Development Manager, Online Initiatives will drive strategy and execution for online fundraising growth and related donor retention strategies. This role will be responsible for collecting and analyzing metrics and making recommendations towards achieving HSSV’s mission goals. The manager will play a key role in developing and implementing a three-year fundraising and donor strategy in collaboration with others on the Development Team and Marketing colleagues.</p> <p>This role will also be responsible for management and growth of our Faithful Friends monthly donors, including en masse stewardship and events, engagement, cultivation and solicitation for this growing group, driving acquisition of new Faithful Friends monthly donors through external vendors utilizing channels including but not limited to door-to-door canvassing and tele-fundraising.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><u><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></u></p> <p><strong>Strategic Fundraising</strong></p> <ul> <li>Analyze donor data and gift trends, driving follow-up programs for participants in special giving days (i.e. #GivingTuesday).</li> <li>Lead or support campaign setup across platforms (peer-to-peer, mobile giving, text to give, etc.).&nbsp;</li> <li>Drive the testing and execution of social media fundraising including direct solicitations and peer-to-peer functions.</li> <li>Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices and identify new approaches that can strengthen “one to many” development income goals.</li> <li>Explore and recommend other technology strategies to augment HSSV’s portfolio of online giving channels.</li> <li>Lead the development and execution of some donor-focused events and virtual engagement opportunities.</li> <li>Provide quarterly reports or presentations to the Chief of Philanthropy and the Development Director. These may be presented to the HSSV’s Board of Directors and, as appropriate, to internal groups.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Online Communications and Donor Retention</strong></p> <ul> <li>Create and lead targeted email campaigns and automated emails in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.</li> <li>Produce and enhance online forms and pages, and implement A/B tests for donations, ask strings, forms, emails and other online areas that affect the donor experience.</li> <li>Collaborate with others to manage segmentation and audiences and expand on donor journeys.</li> <li>Implement and test emails across browsers, platforms and devices.</li> <li>Collaborate with Data Operations team to leverage analytics and tools to improve donor retention, upgrades and acquisition and list segmentation.</li> <li>Recommend new programs, publications, methods, communication tools and activities to grow and/or streamline the current portfolio of recognition activities and stewardship programs.<em>&nbsp;</em></li> </ul> <p><strong>Faithful Friends Program</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage the day-to-day operation of the monthly sustainer program through cultivation efforts, and utilizing technology, such as Pardot journeys and sustainer upgrade functionality, to maximize donations from this group.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Increase the number of recurring donors, the amounts our Faithful Friends donors give and the retention of current donors.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Perform financial data reporting to monitor programs performance, tracking and evaluating the effectiveness of these programs to stay agile and adapt/course correct as needed to meet and exceed financial program goals.</li> <li>Devise and execute annual sustainer procurement initiatives, collaborating with the Direct Marketing Program Manager, external vendors and website manager.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Manage donor inquiries and ensure donors experience that their gifts are making an impact on our mission goals.&nbsp;</li> <li>Other job duties may be assigned as needed.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Professional fundraising or marketing experience: developing, executing, managing and demonstrating results for a monthly giving program, digital campaigns and/or annual communication strategies. Knowledge of various fundraising best practices beneficial.</li> <li>Tactical understanding and passion for audience research, segmentation, A/B testing and optimization.</li> <li>Experience with the following or similar tools: Salesforce NPSP, Pardot, Springboard, WordPress - Pardot/Salesforce certification a plus. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and video editing platforms and basic understanding of HTML a plus.</li> <li>Familiarity with marketing/fundraising through Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.</li> <li>Experience with copywriting, preferably for fundraising, social media, web and email.</li> <li>Project management expertise with defining requirements, developing timelines/workflows and keeping contributors on track to meet deadlines.</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Comfort working both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.</li> <li>Comfort being in contact with animals for purposes of creating assets or at events as needed.</li> <li>Ability to manage of external vendors and associated programs; experience managing volunteers a plus.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work Days and Hours</strong><br /> HSSV is a 24/7/365 organization.&nbsp;Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events, donor meetings or other fundraising functions.</p>
