The First District Appellate Project (FDAP), a congenial 13-attorney, public interest law firm specializing in criminal and juvenile appeals, seeks a well-organized person with a strong work ethic, great attention to detail, commitment to social justice, and advanced computer skills to provide administrative assistance and receptionist duties. This full-time Administrative Assistant / Receptionist position coordinates with a team of seven staff members supporting FDAP’s mission.
Core responsibilities include processing incoming/outgoing electronic and paper documents, handling incoming calls, maintaining office-wide calendars, filing, welcoming visitors, and other tasks as assigned. To work on-site, which is required one-day per week in the near term, the candidate must be vaccinated and must maintain that vaccinated status if booster shots are deemed essential.
A welcoming temperament is essential and the candidate must have exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills facilitating clear and effective communication with attorneys, support staff, and the public. An ability to lift 25 pounds and handle a fast-paced work day with frequent interruptions is required. Facility with VoIP, network organization, Adobe Acrobat (Pro), Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace (G Suite), and Zoom technical facilitation and meeting set up is a must.
