Are you looking to make a difference in the lives of children experiencing homelessness? Our House is always looking for compassionate & dedicated teachers committed to early childhood education. We are currently recruiting for multiple teaching positions including lead teachers, assistant teachers and floaters between our Atlanta and Decatur sites.

We are seeking teachers including GA Prek Lead and Assistant, Lead Teachers and Assistants for all ages. 

Teaching staff hired between April 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021 will be eligible for the following HIRING BONUS provided you meet all the requirements.

The hiring bonus will be applicable based on level of education and contingent upon a successful 6 months of employment.

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in ECE or qualifying related field: $1,000
  2. Associates degree in ECE or qualifying related field: $750
  3. CDA: $500.00

All candidates must satisfactorily meet Our House’s qualifications to be eligible for hire. Teaching staff hired during the eligible time period must satisfactorily complete six months of service as evidenced by a completed six month evaluation by the supervisor to receive the bonus.

This program is only in effect for candidates hired between April 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021 unless officially extended.

About our Early Childhood Education Program

Our House is a Quality Rate, NAEYC accredited child care center located in Decatur and Atlanta, Georgia. We are dedicated to providing quality childcare, interactive learning and memorable experiences. We are looking for energetic, highly qualified teachers to be a part of our Head Start and Early Head Start classroom team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly influential dynamic team.

Qualifications

  • An approved early childhood teaching qualification, preferably a Bachelors, Associates or CDA in early childhood credential.
  • Experience working with young children
  • Team work and organizational skills
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound Computer literacy level
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • Able to pass a COGENT background check
  • Some knowledge concerning NAEYC, Quality Rating and Georgia BFTS

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and deliver the Creative curriculum to promote social emotional health
  • Build positive learning including resources centered around child-directed learning
  • Develop strategies that guide positive behavior
  • Form positive open ended communication with children, coworkers and parents
  • Observe and record the growth of the children developmentally, socially and emotionally using portfolios
  • Ensure that the learning environment is clean, hygienic and safe
  • Aid in developing teaching goals for the center and peers
  • Undertake and maintain administrative tasks as required
