JF&CS is now seeking a Director of Marketing.

The position of the Director of Marketing (DM) is the organization’s lead in marketing the agency’s services to designated target audiences, increasing brand awareness and utilization, educating the community regarding services and access, providing marketing support for agency programs, services and events, and is responsible for protecting the integrity of the agency’s image in terms of branding and communications. 

The DM will be part of an integrated approach in which marketing, development, and programs work together to support the agency’s strategic plan, resource development goals and programmatic priorities. Directly and through the marketing team, this individual manages print, electronic, in-person, social media, broadcast and other current or emerging platforms for communication.  The DM supports and enhances communications with:

1)         Clients – past, current, prospects

2)         Donors - past, current, prospects

3)         Community – Stakeholders, organizations, volunteers, board, partners

4)         Internal – Employees and Programs

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Overseeing marketing department.
  • Recruit, train and manage top talent to support the marketing department’s objectives and goals.
  • Create and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to include a communication and PR plan that enhances the Agency’s image and position within the community in coordination with CEO, CDO, lay leadership, and external consultants if applicable.
  • Coordinate all print and electronic materials (web identity and social media identity, letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.)
  • Create/update Agency’s style guide and insure all staff are trained on and in compliance with usage.
  • Coordination with and support of the Resource Development team in the creation of graphic design elements, images and documents to further fundraising and sponsorship efforts.
  • Oversee the editorial direction, design, production and distribution of Agency’s publications in collaboration with programs, development, marketing, and administration.
  • Direct online strategy and content and maintain and analyze tracking reports for website and social media.  Identify and analyze key performance indicators and generate reports for analysis.
  • Oversee agency’s public relations, including generate media interest in Agency, creating and maintaining relationships with target media and acting as the Agency’s liaison for the media.
  • Management of integrated goals/directives/objectives requiring the collaboration of Marketing, Resource Development and Program teams.
  • Develop educational, and/or awareness events to broaden Agency’s impact and awareness in community in collaboration with agency program staff.
  • Monitor marketing trends, conduct market research when needed and make enhancements to meet objectives.
  • Develop short and long term goals for marketing departments and activities and develop and implement processes to monitor and evaluate progress.
  • Manage overall marketing budget including agency-wide marketing as well as marketing dollars allocated to programmatic initiatives.
  • Oversee contractors, vendors and volunteers in the areas of marketing, communications, and public relations.
  • In collaboration with the program directors and managers, oversee the promotion of programmatic offerings taking into account programmatic resources.
  • In coordination with the CDO, provide oversight for designated special events, initiatives on behalf of the agency.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Five to ten years of marketing management and public relations experience
  • Non-profit experience and understanding required
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills; including in part managing teams, professional development of staff, interfacing with line staff and senior management, project management, and internal/external stakeholder communications
  • Demonstrated success in strategic marketing planning and implementation
  • Demonstrated understanding of fiscal planning and accountability
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Well-organized, analytical, and strong resource relationships, deadline driven
  • Skilled in media relations
  • Diplomatic, skilled in cultivating and actively managing internal and external relationships, including each of the target audiences referenced above as well as other key partners, stakeholders, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated, cross-functional team
  • Experience in data-driven decision-making and results orientation

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree in relevant area, i.e. Marketing, Public Relations, etc.
