Position Summary: The primary responsibilities of the Communications & Marketing Digital Coordinator are to strengthen the organization's digital channels and amplify its mission through compelling digital collateral, evolved design, and engaging multimedia that highlights the global water and climate crisis, Waterkeeper groups, and Waterkeeper Alliance's strategic initiatives. This is a design-intensive position that encourages creativity and requires an understanding of user experience. This position reports to the Communications and Marketing Manager.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Devise, implement, and manage the design, production, and publication of professional, engaging digital collateral for Waterkeeper Alliance's website, email blasts, e-advocacy, print publications, and other communications channels, with a focus on united identity across platforms and mediums;
  • Manage online communities and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Flickr, etc.) by creating and publishing action-oriented content and analyzing trends; 
  • Assist in email marketing efforts and in segmenting and growing subscribers;
  • Coordinate the production of graphics and videos;
  • Manage multimedia assets for both print and online; 
  • Support the Communications and Marketing team’s efforts to meet and exceed strategic plan digital performance measures and national digital benchmarks;
  • Support the Waterkeeper Blog by assisting in photo editing and content coordination, including coordinating necessary approvals;
  • Assist with editorial calendar, media database, and analytic reports; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of professional work experience;
  • A bachelor's degree in digital media, communications, marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience;
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy and an eye for design;
  • Prior graphic design experience including experience in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Experience with social media, content management systems, and email marketing campaign software;
  • Ability to take initiative and work efficiently to complete tasks independently and collaboratively;
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS a plus;
  • Knowledge of SEO and SEM campaign tools a plus;
  • Keen understanding of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) within an organization, across initiatives, and through navigating complex interpersonal relationships;
  • Passion for Waterkeeper Alliance’s mission; and
  • A positive attitude and sense of humor.
