Job Details
Are you passionate about the power of learning through play? We are the Children’s Museum of Atlanta, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), and are the only educational venue of its kind in Atlanta. Through community outreach initiatives, educational programs, and exhibits designed for children ages 0–8, the Museum strives to spark every child’s imagination, sense of discovery and learning through the power of play. We are seeking a Development Associate to join our Strategic Advancement and Marketing Department. 25 hours/week, $13.50/hour
This part time position will assist the Asst. Director of Strategic Advancement in executing the annual fundraising plan and achieving fundraising goals for both individual giving and development special events by assisting with identification, cultivation, and maintaining strong relationships with individual donors.
Responsibilities
- Assists with donor stewardship
- Assists with administration, coordination, and execution of assigned events
- Assist with planning, coordination and follow-up for meetings as assigned
- Process donation pledges and payments and generates gift acknowledgements for the department
- Compiles database queries and generates weekly and ad hoc reports
- Maintains expense budget, invoice tracking, submits credit card expenses and check requests
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and adept at relationship building, strong presentation skills
- Initiative: Eager to create efficiencies to better programs and processes, willingness to seek support for proper completion of job tasks, ability to self-motivate
- Adaptability: Open to new ideas; Flexible, able to learn and embrace procedural changes within organization, ability to work in a team to achieve fundraising and overall organizational goals
- Collaboration: Ability to work well with others, open to sharing ideas and building on others suggestions
- Strong Technical Skills: Knowledge of CRM systems, proficient in Microsoft office suite, ability to learn new software, experience with gift entry procedures and database management experience preferred
