Education Team Overview

Achieving a successful regenerative economy requires a well-trained and educated workforce ready to solve complex problems and implement solutions. Our Education team develops curricula and delivers trainings that empower current and future generations of the workforce.

Position Overview

Southface is seeking a customer-focused individual to join our team as a Project Manager supporting the EMPOWERED project. The Project Manager and partners will leverage Department of Energy funding to create and deploy national educational programming and resources related to distributed energy resources inspection, implementation, and operation for building designers, building officials, builders, skilled tradespeople, and building owners and operators. The ideal candidate is passionate about educational programming and has exceptionally strong project management skills and educational and/or work experience in construction and education.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage multiple projects effectively and efficiently in one or more of the following areas: education, construction and building performance/design
  • Coordinate and collaborate with partners to create and implement effective multi-disciplinary educational programs
  • Provide additional project management support for Southface technical educational programs
  • Assist with business development opportunities, including proposal writing
  • Cultivate and expand trusted relationships
  • Other tasks as necessary supporting the Southface team

Qualifications

The successful applicant for the position will meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or comparable experience in business, construction management, building performance/design
  • Three to five years of project management experience particularly with resource planning and financial budgets
  • Proven exceptional task management and organizational skills while leading multiple projects, tasks and deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in responding to partners, program participants and team in a service-oriented environment
  • Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft programs including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint; MS project or other scheduling software a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Collaborative and positive team-building demeanor
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving history

Physical Requirement

Performing fieldwork involves extensive navigation in and around construction sites, buildings, attics and sites, as well as climbing ladders. Therefore, an applicant must possess physical dexterity, endurance and balance to safely and effectively accomplish this work.

Hours of Work

Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with flexible options. Occasional weekend or evening hours.
