TITLE:  Foundation Coordinator

DEPARTMENT:  Foundation

REPORTS TO: Chief Foundation Officer

CLASSIFICATION:  Full Time, Exempt  

                                        

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:

A positive self-starter, this person will utilize strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with fellow professionals, board members, and donors.  The Foundation Coordinator will gain in-depth knowledge of the Foundation’s strategic goals, operations, technology, and donor services, and will focus on supporting the efforts of Atlanta Jewish Foundation in a variety of different programs and projects providing needed superior leadership, attention to detail and customer service to fundholders, and support for fellow team members. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Event Lead

  • Assist in planning, communication, management and execution of events for fundholders, prospects and legacy donors

Balser Symposium and The Philanthropic Advisor Leadership Institute (PALI)

  • Develop and manage overall event plan; lead and support committee meetings throughout the year
  • Collaborate with partners (Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta and United Way of Greater Atlanta)
  • Facilitate Giving Circle meetings and process resulting gifts
  • Lead Sponsorship and collection of donations

Advisory Board and Foundation Operating Committee

  • Schedule and manage quarterly meetings
  • Create agenda and prepare all reporting, talking points, and minutes
  • Execute governance requirements of board including nominations, renewals and completion of terms and all related communications internal and external

Investment Committee

  • Manage quarterly meetings and make sure all necessary reporting is completed. Provide support for investment committee meetings: manage scheduling and invitations, Zoom logistics, track RSVPs, assist with PowerPoint presentations, prepare meeting minutes
  • Share monthly investment reports

Supporting Foundations

  • Schedule annual meetings and facilitate gifts/activities through resolutions
  • Maintain annual schedule for all meetings ensuring each one is meeting compliance standards
  • Act as liaison between Supporting Foundations and Finance team

Other                                                                                             

  • Assist team with project management
  • Assist Chief Foundation officer with expenses
  • Send birthday, condolence, and holiday cards to fundholders
  • Set up orientation meetings with fundholders
  • Data entry and list pulls for communication and marketing
  • Back up for Foundation Services Senior Associate role
  • Provide general support including stock transfers, tax letters, grants, checks and donor/fundholder requests
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree, communal work or related area, and three years of experience in non-profit fundraising organization or the equivalent.  Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the Jewish community, strong interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills.  Knowledge of computer and database utilization required.  Ability to investigate, analyze, and synthesize data into a user-friendly concise format.  Must be able to plan and organize assignments independently, to create and develop research and to present information effectively.  Strong oral and written communication skills.  Ability to be discreet with valuable and personal fundholder details that are often confidential.

Must provide own transportation and have a valid State of Georgia driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance for traveling to outside meetings and events.  Work hours include occasional nights and weekends as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimal physical effort required with intermittent standing and walking and prolonged periods of sitting in meetings or at desk working with computer.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
