About Liberation in a Generation (LibGen)

We define ourselves as a “national movement-support organization” because we do just that: provide support. From being thought partners for organizations as they think through and build campaigns to hosting workshops and facilitating idea-generation, we’re about bolstering efforts to win racial economic liberation and build political power. We aim to add to and reinforce local, state, and national coalitions, not assume leadership or wrestle power from the people leading them. Whether we’re advising groups on advocacy strategy or bridging movements, our grassroots relationships work is about bringing people and ideas together—and it’s about lifting each other up. Liberation in a Generation is currently incubating in PolicyLink.

About Homes Guarantee Campaign at People’s Action

Our grassroots leaders are the experts of their own experience. The vision for a national Homes Guarantee comes straight from people who are impacted by the nation’s housing crisis, and builds from a long tradition of tenant organizing. Grassroots leaders, as a part of the People’s Action housing justice cohort, developed the Homes Guarantee framework through an intensive organizing process: building our base through popular education training on racial capitalism and housing policy, forging relationships with legislative champions, and drafting our proposal for a national Homes Guarantee.

Position Overview

LibGen and the Homes Guarantee Campaign of People’s Action are looking for an experienced Policy and Political Coordinator (the Coordinator) to support the development and execution of the federal advocacy strategy for the Homes Guarantee Campaign. The Coordinator will be employed by Liberation in a Generation (will be an employee of PolicyLink LibGen’s fiscal sponsor), but co-managed in partnership with leadership at the Homes Guarantee Campaign of People’s Action. The Coordinator will report directly to the Homes Guarantee Political and Policy Manager.
