Job Summary: The special events coordinator will plan, develop, coordinate, promote and implement fundraising and mission based events and activities in accordance with Avow Foundation policies and procedures.

S/he will lead sponsorship and employee giving programs. S/he will promote positive relationships with donors, prospects and representative organizations. 

Conduct all Avow Foundation business in an ethical and respectful manner in adherence with the Compliance and Ethics Program. 

Develop, coordinate and implement all aspects of fundraising events to include annual signature events, community events and cultivation events (virtual and in-person). 

In collaboration with the communications department assume lead role in preparing event specific content for publicity, event collateral, sponsorship benefits, internal and external messaging. 

Serve as Avow liaison for third party fundraising events hosted by community groups and businesses. 

Negotiate and coordinate gift-in-kind donations and contracts as well as all other vendor agreements as needed. 

Develop event planning timeline and budget. 

Forecast event income and expenses and report associated results. 

Collaborate with the volunteer services department to recruit and train event volunteers. 

In collaboration with the fundraising team, meet with corporate and private donors to strategize event solicitations and develop follow-up plans for stewardship of key donors and prospects.

Meet or exceed fundraising goals for events and constituent groups assigned.

Lead development of corporate partnership and engagement opportunities. 

Lead Avow’s internal employee giving program through cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities.

Other duties as assigned.

Computer Skills:

Knowledge of basic typing skills, data entry and word processing software. Familiarity in database

software (preference given to Raiser’s Edge), and general knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office products is

required.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Five plus years of related professional/business experience and 2-5

years of fundraising experience preferred.

Language Skills:

Communication skills of reading, writing and speaking in English.

Math Skills:

Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages/fractions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CFRE preferred.

Other Qualifications:

Valid Florida driver’s license.
