JOB DESCRIPTION:  Fiscal Manager

The Center for Black Women’s Wellness (CBWW) is a community-based nonprofit organization that is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of Black women. The organization provides several comprehensive programs that are designed to educate, empower and inspire participants to make positive changes in their lives and the lives of their families.

CBWW is housed within a City of Atlanta community recreation center.  Due to COVID-19, CBWW staff and consultants are currently working remotely with the exception of a few clinic services taking place at an off-site facility.  This position will require the ability to work and manage remotely with limited access to our on-site facility. 

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Fiscal Manager is responsible for managing the fiscal operations of the CBWW. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Manage all aspects of the finance, accounting, and payroll functions within the organization. 
  • Ensure implementation and maintenance of internal control systems, including fiscal policies and procedures, to comply with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. 
  • Ensure provision of timely and accurate analysis and reporting of financial data including monthly reports for use in expense control, forecasting, reporting, and preparing quarterly projections. 
  • Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and internal teams. 
  • Ensure appropriate management of all revenue received, liaising closely with the Development Department. 
  • Manage cash position, ensuring appropriate management of funds, preparing cash flow projections, and monitoring cash flow needs. 
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate financial records, including all financial/accounting systems. 
  • Develop effective relationships with Executive and Program Staff to ensure timely management of all business and program activities. 
  • Advising senior management on financial planning, budgeting, cash management, investment priorities, and financial policy matters 
  • Overseeing budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and cash flow matters 
  • Preparing budgets for grant proposals and financial reports for funders  
  • Representing the organization’s financial interests in a range of business relationships, including but not limited to banking, investments, real estate, and employee benefits 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or related field of study 
  • 3-5 years of nonprofit accounting experience 
  • Ability to explain financial matters in a clear and concise way to non-finance people 
  • Creative and strategic thinker 
  • Strong work ethic, works well under deadlines and completes projects in a timely and efficient manner
