WORSHIP PASTOR VACANCY POSTING

Johns Creek Baptist Church of Alpharetta, Georgia, a northern suburb of Atlanta, is seeking a full-time Worship Pastor to oversee and lead its Traditional Worship Ministries. We are affiliated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, have a residential membership of 2800+, and hold both Contemporary and Traditional worship services each week. Our Traditional service includes full orchestra, Sanctuary choir, Bosendorfer piano, and 103 rank Ruffatti pipe organ.

In collaboration with the Senior Pastor, other staff, and lay leaders, the role of the Worship Pastor is key to ensuring that our worship is offered with excellence, as we seek to glorify God in all we do.

ESSENTIALS: 

• Undergraduate degree in music (focus on vocal training will be a plus).
• Master’s level (or greater) theological music degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience leading worship. 
• A committed believer who exhibits a well-tended interior life and feels sincere call to serve Christ’s church.
• Passionate about leading the church in worship and has platform presence. 
• Strong musical gifts.

• Good decision-making abilities, able to make the tough call, while maintaining healthy relationships with peers as well as those being supervised

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Plan worship services, in collaboration with Senior Pastor and Contemporary Worship Pastor regarding theme, scripture, and teaching focus.
• Coordinate and lead all participants in the Traditional worship service.
• Attend regular Pastoral Staff meetings.
• Select all music for choir, orchestra, soloists, and congregation, and conduct regular rehearsals of all music groups.
• Prepare, submit, oversee, and manage annual Worship Ministry Budget.
• Organize and lead special concerts and musical (or dramatic) events (such as Christmas, Lent/Easter, and other special celebrations).
• Oversee and manage the regular maintenance of all worship related instruments, tools, props and costumes, and A-V equipment- in conjunction with the Production Manager, as well as other physical facility factors that impact the Traditional worship environment.
• Supervise all music ministries staff and volunteers – this includes Administrative Assistant, Organist, Pianist, Director of Children’s Music Ministries, Senior Choir director, and any other groups that may develop.  
• Organize and lead choir officers and ministry groups within the Worship Ministry
• Cast clear vision for worship and advance the larger vision of JCBC within the Worship Ministry.
• Plan or assist with planning special services such as funerals, memorial services, etc.
