About the Position
Sewn Arts seeks a motivated and multi-talented professional to serve as its Programs Director. Reporting to the CEO, the Programs Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of Sewn Arts programs with care providers and health & human service agencies as the organization grows and increases its impact in Georgia and beyond. In addition, the Programs Director will support Sewn Arts’ efforts to develop new partnerships, identify evidence-based arts interventions, and strengthen the organization’s operations. The ideal candidate will have the ability to both implement programs and design/develop new initiatives, with a focus on building a sustainable foundation for Sewn Arts’ future growth. This is an opportunity for an individual with experience in project management, program design, and partnerships to join a start-up organization with potential for growth in the arts & health field.

Position Status
Beginning as a part-time contract position at approximately 20-25 hours/week, the Programs Director will join Sewn for an initial three-month contract, to be reviewed at the completion of 90-day period and against agreed upon benchmarks. If mutually agreed upon, the position will continue on a contract basis through April 2022 with the intention of moving to a full-time, salaried position if funding permits. Sewn Arts’ is seeking a candidate who wants to grow with the organization and seeks to make a lasting impression on the organization’s early development.

Duties & Responsibilities

Program Development, Implementation & Evaluation

  • Organizing programs and activities in accordance with Sewn’s mission and goals
  • Develop arts-based health & wellness interventions that are informed by existing programs from across the globe
  • Planning, coordinating, documentation, and evaluation of Sewn’s program execution
  • Creation and management of program budgets and other materials
  • Active participation in and facilitation of program activities

Relationship Management

  • Developing and maintaining partnerships in the arts & health field
  • Stakeholder communications, negotiations, and problem-solving
  • Assisting with partnership development
  • Supporting resource development activities in partnership with the CEO
  • Recruitment and training of program implementation personnel
  • Managing contracted program personnel
  • Developing partnerships with industry leaders and cultural organizations to source program personnel

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in program coordination and development
  • Experience working in health & wellness, mental/behavioral health, or public health
  • Clear and significant experience providing direct service programs to individuals in healthcare and/or health & human service agencies
  • Demonstrated familiarity with the role of arts & culture in impacting individual or community well-being
  • Attention to cultural awareness in all forms of stakeholder engagement
  • Willingness to work evenings or weekends as program schedules necessitate

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal and human relations skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other online tools
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to thrive within a fast-paced, results-driven environment and work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
  • Committed to building positive relationships with all agency stakeholders, across levels, roles and functions
  • Solutions and detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Compensation
As a contract position, the Programs Director will be compensated an hourly rate of $30/hour. On average, the position should not exceed 25 hours per week.

Additionally, Sewn will contribute a fixed $100/month to be applied towards internet, phone, and local travel expenses. Travel beyond the 10-county metro area will be reimbursed at the federal mileage rate of $0.56/mile. Additionally, Sewn will provide a membership to Switchyards co-working space during the contract period.
