Direct Support Professional / Residential Advisor

Ascensa Health at St. Jude’s Recovery Center, Inc. is a non-profit Substance Abuse treatment center located in Atlanta, Georgia. The agency is committed to providing an integrated system of care that sustains long term recovery from the disease of addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders and returns the at-risk individual to their families and communities. Offering a full continuum of care to those most in need, the agency serves over 1500 individuals and families each year. 

Ascensa Health is currently seeking Residential Advisors for the following: 

Part time every other Sat/Sun 3p-11p and 11p-7a 

PRN (All Residential programs)

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Provides hourly internal ground checks and documents in communication log.  Notifies Residential Manager of any concerns.
• Enforces House Rules in such a way that is clear and respectful to the client.
• Documents all transactions and activities with clients in the communication log for each shift worked.  Reads and initials what is documented by other staff members, in the communication log.
• Facilitates assigned residential educational groups as instructed by the Residential Manager. Completes progress/group notes and other related documentation before the end of the shift according to agency policy.
• Conducts random and scheduled drug screens and room searches per agency policy and procedures.

Candidates must have experience working in mental health/ behavioral health/ substance abuse field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professionalism, dedication, and a commitment to excellence are essential to be successful in this role.
