PROGRAM MANAGER

As a non-profit, the SF Market’s focus on growth extends to the entire food system – with high-impact programs directed toward food recovery, food insecurity, educational tours, local farmer partnerships, and healthy retail policy.

About the Job
You will develop and execute the SF Market’s community programs. This effort requires maintaining existing relationships with key stakeholders and building new relationships, systems and processes to grow the programs. You will manage our food recovery program and food insecurity program as well as develop new programs in areas such as workforce development and regional farmer partnerships.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management:
- Manage program timelines and fulfill all grant reporting requirements
- Recruit, hire, train, and manage program staff
- Develop, maintain and report the effectiveness of programs
Program Development:
- Drive the development of a multi-year program vision and plan
- Gather data, conduct research, and interview stakeholders to develop new programs
- Propose program goals and activities
Budgeting:
- Oversee program budget
- Develop annual program budget
- Track program expenses
Fundraising:
- Develop prospects in conjunction with fund development
- Track funding sources
- Ensure compliance with donation requirements
Additional Duties:
- Staff and lead the Strategy Committee
- Conduct annual Merchant Survey
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Food, agriculture, public policy, and/or nonprofit experience/interest is a plus.
- Strong organizational, people management, and time management skills
- Significant experience engaging in fund development activities, particularly grants, strongly desired.
- Fluency in English. Fluency in Cantonese or Spanish is a plus.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
- Driver’s license required.
- Proof of clean driving record.
