Role

Under the direction of the Executive Director and Deputy Director, the Community & Content Manager will lead the planning, development, launch, and management of a new virtual community that will serve the interests and needs of sepsis survivors and their caregivers. The Community & Content Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategy for Sepsis Alliance public education and survivor support initiatives. 

Responsibilities

Survivor Community

  • Work with Sepsis Alliance management team, outside pro bono agency, and survivor community committee to research and develop concept for the community
  • Manage review and recommendation for selection of the online platform
  • Research subject matter experts to provide education and support resources for the community
  • Identify and build library of relevant resources (amputee golf, yoga, mental health, etc.)
  • Work with the Communications Director to promote the community to survivors and family members through email marketing and social media
  • Create an annual content calendar/plans for the community to build membership and drive engagement
  • Work with the development team to identify and solicit potential commercial sponsors and individual donors
  • Identify, foster, and manage relationships with other sepsis survivor and advocacy groups to further engagement in community
  • Coordinate meetings; this includes preparing and distributing agendas, compiling and distributing meeting materials, and taking minutes and communicating any next steps. 

Content

  • Manage content on sepsis.org 
  • Review Sepsis Alliance resources annually to determine effectiveness 
  • Develop a strategy for new content and resources to develop, and manage the full process from ideation to development, release, and promotion
  • Working with the communications team, strategize and create materials for dis-advantaged communities, including those at greater risk due to racial, ethnic, or socio-economic status

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience writing, developing, and editing online content
  • Proven ability to write clear and compelling copy and content
  • Experience managing community forum a plus
  • Experience in online and social media marketing and promotion a plus
  • Project management experience 
  • Conversant in health issues and terminology 
  • Passion to improve health and save lives

Skills

  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Technology savvy
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite preferred, but not necessary
  • Working knowledge of Mailchimp, or similar email marketing platform
  • Ability to work with technology platforms including WordPress
  • Experience in CRM software, Salesforce preferred
  • Ability to work with multiple partners (survivors, family, subject matter experts, technology)
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask multiple projects 
  • Ability to work independently and virtually
