ELEVATOR PITCH

We are looking for an experienced and energetic professional with a track record of working across multiple areas including program design and execution. This individual will help lead a dynamic team of social impact professionals, both managing and leading partnerships, initiatives, and projects. Examples include:

  • Building a community-grounded leadership development fellowship

  • A feasibility study and strategic planning for a college access and success center

  • Program evaluation for a national organization serving in the nonprofit space

  • Designing and facilitating virtual listening sessions to gain community input to inform and finalize a strategic plan and roadmap for a place-based strategy revamp around boys and young men of color initiatives

  • Launching continued and evolved iterations of incubators and accelerators for nonprofits to develop and build capacity

Strategic Community Partners is seeking a dynamic candidate available to start in Q1 2021 and help advance the company through its next stage of growth. This person will report directly to the CEO and must be based either in Detroit, St. Louis, or Washington, DC.

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Advanced Degree preferred

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 10 years experience serving as a senior leader (Deputy Director or above)

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in management consulting, philanthropy, program design, or non-profit management preferred

  • Comfort and exemplary track record working behind-the-scenes and engaging externally with partners/clients/media

 

SKILL SETS

  • Intrinsically motivated with an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Exhibits relentless focus on program impact and client success in the face of challenges and obstacles

  • Excellent coalition-building skills with an ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including partners, clients, youth, community members, and government officials

  • Ability to manage a creative process from end-to-end with a demonstrated track record of leveraging traditional and digital media strategies to deliver impact

  • Excels in constantly changing environments and adapts flexibly in shifting projects or priorities to meet the needs of partners and clients; comfortable with ambiguity and non-routine situations

  • Exemplary project management skills that demonstrate strong organization and planning habits overall, including:

  • Creating vision and an aligned strategic plan

  • Project plan design based on a vision and goals

  • Project design and execution

  • Builds effective relationships with team members with an ability to move everyone towards company goals, utilizing varying leadership approaches (when needed)

  • Utilizes strong problem-solving skills and prioritizes data-driven decision-making

  • Anticipates and responds to partner/client needs in a high-quality and courteous manner

  • Effectively engages media to increase opportunities for and expand the success of partners, programs, and clients

     

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Founder and CEO to articulate and implement SCP’s strategic plan while ensuring that the budget, staff, and priorities are aligned with SCP’s core mission.

  • Serves as SCP’s program lead, ensuring all partner work is impact-oriented and implemented with precision

  • Principal driver of the company’s expansion into new markets along the East Coast and the Midwest.

  • Serve as a primary spokesperson and ambassador for Strategic Community Partners in a variety of environments.

  • Support the management of the SCP Communications operation and the continued development of SCP’s strategic marketing and communications plans and ensure that key organizational messages reach intended audiences.
